"We had an excellent night at the sandman. The hotel is very big the extinct feels quite grand. There was plenty of reception staff to help which made for a quick check in. The rooms were really nice. Clean with high cleanings it was good to have a bath and a shower. The bar was very nice as well although £7.50 a pint was a bit on the expensive side but it had a good atmosphere and was a nice place to be. One of the best things about the hotel is its location it is just a short walk from the bars and restaurants of the city centre. Having its own parking is also a huge bonus. Aberdeen itself is a great city it is very clean and there is lots to do. We had a great night out for dinner and then hitting the pubs most of which had good atmosphere and live music. Definitely check out the beech as well well it is a lovely area. We also went to the maritime museum which is free and is really interesting. The only things that could have been better. If the parking arrangements could have been communicated first as it was a bit stressful having to stop just outside the hotel door. The hotel is a bit of a labyrinth it is easy to get lost in it does add to the character but maybe more signs or a map. I’m probably being pedantic here. Excellent hotel though I would definitely stay here Again."

"This was my final stay after Stonehaven and City Centre. It was a welcome change from the loud noises around my city centre flat. Keep in mind you are very far from everything without a car. The property sits alone and Peterculter is the next town over offering a few grocery stores, pubs, restaurants, etc. I was a bit unwise to walk an hour there which puts you right up against the road. The property is beautiful, historic, and sits on the River Dee with a kirkyard a stone’s throw away. The room was a mix of a very modern bathroom and cosy bedroom. I found all the storage thoughtful and ample. The bedding was comfortable and the windows provided the incredibly fresh air from outside. The staff is wonderful and havent forgotten what hospitality looks like. I assume he may be a general manager but the gentleman from Spain was especially hospitable and even offered recommendations after learning I enjoy hiking. Smart casual wear recommended for dinner at Poachers where the food is very good. Have drinks in the great hall which is absolutely enchanting."

"On arrival the reception staff were not engaging or helpful. On departure the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The staff at the bar were lovely. There were some dusty areas in the bedroom especially the television. The bed was comfortable and the area was very quiet. One of the lifts was out of order so the wait to leave was always 5 minutes or more. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of choice and everything was fresh and plentiful. The staff at breakfast were friendly and attentive. Overall it was a positive experience and I would not hesitate to stay again in the future."
