Really enjoyed my stay at Scott’s cabinas! It was very clean and had a lot of cool stuff, the open air kitchen and common area was really neat!

This is a great place to stay in Uvita. We did not have a car while we were here but we could walk everywhere we needed to go. It is centrally located and very close to a couple of entrances to the Ballena National Marine Park as well as some food stores and several restaurants. Kinsu restaurant, which is excellent, is less than a 3min walk away. Scott is usually around to answer any questions or concerns you may have. He will arrange tours and transportation for you if required. He had to go back to the USA while we were there but he made arrangements for another man to come and stay at his place so someone was always there to look after any needs we may have had. The shared outdoor kitchen area was a great place to have lunch and breakfast; we went out for dinner each night. It was nice to be able to have fridge and freezer space in the big shared fridge in the outdoor kitchen. Our room was comfortable and we appreciated the small fridge and sock coffee maker in our room. Scott supplied the coffee and sugar. There are only 3 cabinas which is nice, people to talk to if you want but not busy. The pool is great for swimming.

Unique stay - worth every penny
Ever stayed in cabina before so little skeptical. Owner met us in parking area, walked us through everything we needed to know about facility ,restaurants and town. 2 day stay and will return . Great pool and common area. Owner could teach small hotels/ lodges customer service skills and hospitality.

Chill with a sense of style
This was the PERFECT place to stay in Uvita! Beautiful and tasteful rooms, Comfortable bed, nice grounds and dip pool, walkable to the beach, grocery store and restaurants!

Very nice property, good communication with owner. Property was clean and comfortable. Parking was gated and secure. We were able to walk to the beach. Bed very comfortable. Would recommend.

A real oasis in Uvita. Felt like staying at a friends house. So many details on the property & inside the room showed how much fun the owner must have renting his rooms and meeting people.

Cabina D’Val is an ideal accommodation within Uvita. Wonderful individual units with all the amenities one needs for a comfortable Costa Rica adventure. Easy walking to Playa Ballena and services. Our host, Scott was the best and was always extremely hospitable. Would return in a heartbeat to enjoy the Pura Vida at Cabinas D’Val.

It's a cute, cozy, gated place with just a few rooms, a common area with a fully equipped kitchen, a small entertainment area, and a pool. There's a ceiling fan, an AC, a laundry hanger inside the room. Walking distance from a few decent restaurants and the national park beach.

Cabinas d’Val is an amazing place to stay in Uvita! Great location, just a quick walk to the beach or into town. Lots of great restaurants nearby and so quiet and peaceful. The bed is so comfortable, I slept amazing here. The owner Scott is an amazing host and made me feel so welcome. As a woman traveling alone, feeling safe and secure where I am staying is always important and the Cabinas was perfect in this respect. I will definitely be coming back. Stay here you won’t regret it!

Scott the owner was very helpful and friendly. The outdoor kitchen and the pool was clean and inviting. The proximity to the most beautiful beach and National Park makes this a great location. Scott helped us to book a boating tour for whale and dolphin watching. I would go back to this place in a heartbeat. Thumbs up!

The details were lovely; the bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels were high quality, the shower soap and shampoo smell amazing, and there were items for cooking, coffee, etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great place away from the crowds
We enjoyed our five day stay here so much that we extended for 2 further nights. Although there is not a great deal to do in Uvita, the national park is beautiful ($6 entry fee) and Scott, the owner, is happy to arrange any trips for you. October is a quiet time of year, so although there are a few good places to eat they were either closed or closed early. There are two small groceries stores nearby, and a really good supermarket in easy walking distance. However, the cabin and gardens are so comfy and peaceful it was a great place just to relax. The bed is incredibly comfy, the pool is nice for a dip to cool off, and the gardens are great for bird watching. There is also a great rancho for outdoor cooking, and a good outside seating area. Scott was a great host and made us feel very welcome, he even did some laundry for us. If you are looking for a great place to stay away from the crowds, then look no further.

We loved our stay at Cabinas D'Val! Judy and Scott are so nice and know lots about the area. The property is beautiful and includes a pool and really cool area outside for communal cooking so that you can hang out in comfy chairs in the shade while eating, or sit by the pool. The rooms are clean and well stocked with cutlery, plates, glasses, etc, and have a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, and a chorreador. The nearby beach Playa Uvita isn't crowded at all and stretches on for miles. You can walk all the way down to the whale tail if you want. While we stayed at Cabinas D'Val, we went on a great snorkeling trip to Cano Island (through Bahia Adventures). Definitely a great place to stay if you want proximity to this tour, or are interested in a few relaxing beach days. Thanks Scott and Judy! :)

Feeling of intimacy, only 3 cabinas in a nice garden where you can observe birds and iguanas in the surrounding trees. Good size pool, air conditioned rooms, plenty of filtered water available. On the patio you can cook, have a few drinks, read, listen to some music... there is also documentation about the regions and animals/plants. We could walk to the beach (sunsets!!) and to a few good restaurants. We really enjoyed spending a week there. Judy and Scot are super nice and helpful.

Amazing vacation in Uvita
Cabinas D'Val was fantastic! Scott was a wonderful host and helped us book incredible trips to Corcovado National Park and Cano Island. The location is peaceful, but very close to the beach and lots of restaurants and activities in Uvita. Both the room and the common areas were very comfortable, and the coffee was great! We just wish we'd been able to stay longer :)

The Cabinas is a lovely oasis hidden away in Uvita, yet close to the beach, the restaurant and businesses. The owners, Judy and Scott are great hosts, they make you feel welcome and are super helpful if you need to organize any activities or get a restaurant recommendation. The rooms are charming and the bed super comfortable. Don't forget to relax in the pool to the tune of your favorite songs that Alexa will gladly play for you :)

Staying here was the highlight of our trip in Costa Rica. Judy and Scott the owners are 2 of the nicest, warmest people we have ever met and made us feel right at home from the start making sure we had everything we needed. The Cabinas are very comfortable and the pool is wonderful to cool off in, the whole place is just a little oasis. So close to the beach and town. Can’t wait to come back

Not worth the price. The cabina was small, and there was little table space or shelf space for one’s things. The owner required a two hour window for our arrival a day in advance, and he threatened to cancel our reservation if we did not comply. The bed was comfortable.

We thank you for your review and very sorry for the items you’ve referenced. May we please address them. We’ve always had positive reviews about our pricing and what we offer. We are sorry you felt the cabina was to small. It could have felt smaller to you since it was a king size bed cabina which we upgraded you to from your queen size bed cabina. The king bed does take up more space. When we emaile for your approximate time, we did not ask for a specific time. Just so we knew approximately when you would be arriving so we could make sure we were on site. And, this is a new situation with traveling for all of us and I thought it be best to be there when our guests checked in to give them the tour and provide information. We usually have self check in, however we now are asking our guests during these different times for an approximate arrival time. Again, we appreciate your feedback and we are sorry your stay fell short of your expectations. Reminder....you were upgraded without you requesting.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist super, es sind nur wenige Minuten zum Traumstrand. Die Zimmer sind hübsch und mit Liebe eingereichten. Es gibt einen schönen Pool. Die Inhaber sind super freundlich. Wir würden immer wieder kommen.
