Our reservation stated the hotel was in Balateer however the hotel is in Bramaer 16 miles away. The address also shows Balateer. They had said they have tried to get it corrected three times to no avail. We had paid for breakfast was was told we had to pay until we confirmed with reception.

Spacious bedroom clean and comfortable

Entrance area olde worlde -check in quick with all relevant info given. Bedroom on ground floor clean and comfortable. Lighting a bit subdued- not good for reading in communal areas. Staff all friendly and helpful. Buffet style breakfast - no complaints.

Hôtel vetuste

Hotel uncomfortable, vétuste, tout est à refaire. Salle de bain froide. Chambre pas chauffée et il faisait 13 degrés dehors avec une matinée à trois degrés. Beaucoup de personnes très âgées. Accueil patibulaire.

Three star Hotel

Perfect place to put your head down after a hard day touring. Don't expect anything else from a 3 star hotel. Did not eat there upon receiving recommendations from locals to eat elsewhere. Adequate facilities. No complaints. Staff looked after us changing rooms that had lift access for us being older travellers. Grateful for that.

Disappointing

The hotel is in need of a major makeover. The receptionist saved the holiday she was extremely helpful and was covering various positions at the hotel which was clearly understaffed The food wasn’t great especially in the hotel dining room, cool chicken and inedible mashed potato Breakfast buffet was cold Hotel bathroom dark with missing lights, dirty sanitary ware This hotel is in a beautiful area where hotels are limited but the Invercauld arms needs to get its act together before I return

Grand hôtel ancien . Mériterait un rafraîchissement.......et un nettoyage des salles de bains et chambres = des traces de coulures sur les murs. Bien situé pour Balmoral

Seen better days

The Invercauld Arms may look beautiful online, the common areas may be passable, but our in person experience was dreadful. To spend money on a room where you can actually see grease from previous guests on the headboard... it was disgusting. The outside of the hotel is indisputably beautiful but the interior looks like it hasn't been cleaned and or renovated in decades. Check out the promotional video on their website... all scenes of the region and building with not a peak into the decrepit interior. Would never recommend this place to a friend.

Great location and excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The building externally looks lovely but inside it is in desperate need of a refurbishment. Poor lighting in the room, a bathroom looking like it hasn't been changed in 30 years and a feeling in the room that nothing is fresh and clean.

The address given was Main Street, Ballater which is totally incorrect as the hotel is in Braemar about 8 miles away which is very confusing and misleading. The post code was correct and we had no idea why our satnav was taking us to the wrong town.

A dated hotel. Rooms renovated some time ago but small. Detail poor eg round pin plug for room table light but sockets square so cannot use. Food basic. Overpriced - safer and better value at a Premier Inn. Hotels part of Shearings and used for coach tours for Senior folks! Best avoided. Limited wifi and only at reception - none in rooms or lounges.

Hilfsbereiter Empfang und zweckmässige Zimmer, mit dem nötigsten ausgestattet, wenig Luxus, altes Inventar. Durchschnittsalter eher hoch, weniger zu empfehlen für junge Leute auf der Suche nach einer Party-Location.

A beautiful character building that could use some TLC....and upgrades. Internet.....ONLY in the reception area and randomly Bathroom way too old! Fan incredibly noisy, hair dryer is from the 60's same with a funny old radio over the desk. The towels were smelly...that is bad. The dinning room is stunning and the staff is really friendly.

This old hotel has lots of character but is tired and needing an upgrade. When the Fife hotel opens it will struggle.

Leak in room ceiling. Took staff 40 minutes to sort out a new room while leaving reception unattended. New room just about functional with one semi broken bed and not 100% clean and very dated. Staff at bar was totally overwhelmed. Breakfast was just about ok. Got a hefty discount when checking out, but would not come back unless fully refurbished.
