Our family of 6 stayed here as part of our vacation after a great time in San Diego. The location was great and check-in was fine—but things went downhill fast.
The morning after our first night, I noticed brown water leaking from the base of the toilet, spreading across the bathroom floor. I’d seen some dampness the night before but figured it was from a prior guest or one of my kids after a shower. I reported it, and a tech confirmed the leak. Instead of handling it professionally, the assistant manager questioned why I didn’t report it earlier, despite my explanation. The interaction turned needlessly confrontational, but was never abusive on my end.
I asked for a refund for the second night (which we hadn’t stayed yet), but was told it probably wouldn’t happen. They offered to move us to another room later that day, but after talking it over—especially with my daughter having been barefoot in the bathroom—we decided not to return.
When I called to cancel, I was falsely accused of being abusive to staff, which was completely untrue. After several calls between Expedia and the hotel, they agreed to split the refund. Two weeks later, Expedia says the hotel still hasn’t processed it.
The plumbing issue was bad, but the bigger issue was the poor management and lack of accountability. I travel a lot, and this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had.
