Bainbridge Island

The Bloedel Reserve is a 150-acre (0.6 km2) forest garden on Bainbridge Island, 30 minute ferry ride from Seattle, WA.

Made by the vice-chairman of a lumber company, under the influence of the conservation movement and Asian philosophy. The family opened its highly curated and manicured garden/forest to public in the 80’s, it isn’t free because it is beautifully manicured and maintained.
Pictured here in the distance over the lake is the manor, and it’s open to public as a museum.

The place has lots of rules, or rather, it’s very “controlled”, which I think it’s a good representation of the old school Pacific Northwest. 😂
No pets, no picnics, no commercial portrait photography, last admission is at 4pm. Closed on Mondays.

A ferry ride from Seattle for hiking trails and gardens around the estate. #Seattle #Washington
There is beauty year round at this favorite walking place. A misty fall morning can be magical.
