2 year return.
Found this hotel 2 years ago and loved it, its in a little village with not much going on around it but if that doesn't worry you then this hotel is lovely. The food in the restaurant is very tasty and well cooked just a bit limited if your a fussy eater, otherwise it's fantastic. Wanted to come back to this hotel from the day we left 2 years ago and we wasn't left down on our return

A Black Forest Retreat
Our room was quite large, with a sitting area and two very charming balconies. The decor was several decades out of date and the bathroom could definitely have used an update, but overall it was clean and well appointed. Note that the bed is German style - two separate beds next to each other, with two separate duvets and no top/flat sheet. As an American, I find this set up perplexing (why no top sheet? what if the duvet is too hot but you still want to be covered by something??) but it is fairly typical in Germany. Note also that my payment was not processed through Hotels.com; rather I had to pay at check-out which was made complicated by the fact that my credit card was rejected for no apparent reason. A debit card was accepted but the woman at the front desk did not speak sufficient English (nor I sufficient German), to explain whether this was hotel policy or just a fluke.

Delightful spot
Excellent value - I've paid more than twice as much for hotels nowhere near as good as this one. The pool and saunas were excellent and the restaurant first rate - highly recommend the Schwabian Fillet of Beef. Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Having previously been charged extortionate amounts for hotel parking I was delighted that parking is free here. One tiny negative was the lack of a kettle in the room for making tea and coffee. As an Englishman I can't function without a cup of tea first thing in the morning. But that wouldn't stop me booking here again. I've knocked a point off the "Condition of the Hotel" because the stair carpets were a bit worn but that was all. Wish I was still there!

We stayed in a part of the hotel that had not been renovated in quite some time. Hallway carpet looked stained and had rips in it. The room itself was also dated including the bathroom. Room had shaggy carpet.The bath towels were well worn with one having a large rip in it. The restaurant food was fine.

Very Best of Small Hotels
We stayed here at the end of a 3 week vacation in Germany and Austria. The Lamm was very near the best of the best. When we return to the Black Forest area this hotel will be on our list again. Room views great, meals great, staff great!

Das Gute Zuerst. Wir buchten ein Zimmer „Guldenberg“. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ausreichend groß. Das Abendessen war sehr schmackhaft aber ein bisschen überteuert. Der Welness-Bereich ist sehr schön angelegt und bietet Entspannung. Nun die kleinen Mankos. Die Angestellten sind entweder super freundlich oder sehr unachtsam und unfreundlich. Beim Frühstück und am Empfang am Morgen sind die Angestellten top. Beim Check-In am Nachmittag erzählt die Dame es Sie gerne erzählen möchte, und geht gar nicht auf die Fragen der Kunden ein. Ein Hinweis darauf wird frech gekontert. Die Damen im Restaurant sind stets bemüht einen zu ignorieren, nehmt Euch mal ein Beispiel an den zwei jungen Kollegen die immer freundlich nachfragen und Grüßen. Zum Schluss die Dinge die gar nicht gehen. Der Pool wird nur sporadisch gereinigt, wir haben nach drei Tagen auf den alten Abfall hingewiesen, von selber kontrolliert keiner regelmäßig. Das ist generell im Spa ein Problem, es gibt seltenes ein Nachschub an Handtücher oder Trinkbecher. Eventuell ist dies dem COVID Thema geschuldet. Aber, bitte jemanden von Zeit zu Zeit den Pool kontrollieren lassen, und die gesetzten Regeln auch umsetzten. Ist nicht toll wenn in einem Welness Spa Bereich permanent die Kinder und Eltern vom Beckwnrand springen.

Die ca. 50 Meter (gefühlte 5 Meter) entfernte Kirche mit ihrer lauten Glocke hat uns jeden Morgen um 6 Uhr aus dem Schlaf gerissen. Es gab nicht mal einen kleinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer, was bei den zum Zeitpunkt des Aufenthalts herrschenden Temperaturen nicht gerade toll war. Erst bei der Abreise haben wir erfahren, dass wir danach fragen sollten und da hätten sie uns einen Kühlschrank installiert. Ob man dort nächstes mal auch nach einem Bett, Duschkopf oder Handtücher fragen muss, ist abzuwarten. Frühstück in Form eines Halb-Buffets. Müsli, Marmelade, Honig und Brot waren ausgestellt, den Kaffe und 3 kleine Teller pro Tisch mit Wurst und Käse wurden von Kellner/-in geliefert. Das Menü ziemlich einseitig und langweilig. Mittags konnte man im Restaurant nur eine Kleinigkeit essen. Das „richtige“ Essen konnte man erst ab 18 Uhr bestellen, was für uns zu spät war. Deshalb mussten wir andere Möglichkeiten suchen, was gar nicht leicht war. Im Ort haben wir nur einen Italiener, der nur Pizza servierte und ein deutsches Restaurant gefunden. Das Essen dort war aber nicht der Traum. Dafür gab es ca. 12 Km weiter ein Restaurant mit tollen, sehr leckeren Gerichten. Der Pool im Hotel ist aber toll und auch die Liegewiese fanden wir super. Sauberkeit auf Top- Niveau und das Personal sehr freundlich. Fazit: für die Kirche kann die Hotelleitung nichts, aber über das mit dem Kühlschrank müsste man bei der Ankunft informiert werden.

Guten Hotel der oberen Mittelklasse
Das Hotel Lamm ist ein schönes Hotel mit einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Parkplätze sind vor dem Haus. Das Essen war sehr gut, genau so wie das Frühstück. Einzige kleine Mängel gab es im Saunabereich wo die automatische Aufgussanlage ausgefallen war, aber das kann man ja beheben.
