While Awaji island might not be on the typical tourist path, you could spend hours exploring the grounds of this magnificent place. We enjoyed a picnic lunch on one of the verandas overlooking the "100 squares" of terraced gardens. If you go mid-week, you'll feel like you have the entire place to yourself!

"The property is well equipped & clean. The sauna provides relaxing moment in modern style. Excellent! We just left the bathtub which is open in the middle of the Villa as we were a group of 4. There is a good cafe next to the Villa Coretile and her coffee was great. Recommended. Communication was very nice & the host took care of what we need. We stayed 2 nights in early April. "Hotel is right across fr the airport. Great location if u need to catch an early flight out. Offers good breakfast buffet.They also allowed us to leave our large luggages a week in advance our stay. Will book here again. "

"This hotel is perfectly fit for purpose! Its not massive but has everything youd need, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the airport shuttle was great! There is a mall attached for any last minute ahopping and a train station basically underneath it! Would absolutely stay again!"

Star Gate Hotel Kansai Airport

"Staff were lovely, lobby area was very nice. Lifts are very loud in the room every 5-10 minutes so you need earplugs, which they have at reception. The room itself was quite dated, decor straight out of the 90s, everything was very used and worn and the walls were dirty, in need of a fresh coat of paint. The carpet also had a concerning number of mystery stains and splatters on it. The free bus service to the airport was a nice benefit, you have to book for this in advance. The train station is right by the hotel which is very convenient, and there is also a Lawson and Family Mart within 5 minutes of the hotel."
