Part of the university, the Jules Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art offers a detailed look at American modernism from the 19th century onward. More than 1,500 pieces make up the permanent collection. Explore the history of the local area when you take a trip to Pebble Hill. Here you will discover a traditional, pre-Civil War plantation house with original architecture and furnishings, offering a glimpse of America in the early 1800s.
If you don’t have your own transportation, use the town’s bus service, which will take you around all the main sights. The climate is subtropical, with mild winters and hot, humid summers, making Auburn an excellent place to visit any time of year.
