The perfect location for exploring this wonderful city - Plaka is central to everything and we used the metro and trams and occasional taxis when necessary. Bear in mind the street is pedestrianised so be prepared to lug your cases a little way plus there is no lift in the hotel. The area is entirely safe - we wandered around a lot, even late at night, and never felt uncomfortable. The team at the property were incredibly helpful with recommendations for everything from where to eat to chartering a boat and made us feel extremely welcome throughout. The rooms are huge which was ideal for a 7 night stay and the only noise from reception in the mornings as our room was very close so not an issue for the floor above. A few recommendations to improve things further would be to ditch the shower curtains, have a plug on the sinks and replace the cracked toilet seat. It would have been perfect if there had been a small balcony to sit out in the evenings but I guess that is not easy to change and in February, not a problem for us. All in all, I'd highly recommend this property and Athens is a superb city if you like your history, great food and lovely people!
