This motel is on the edge of town as you arrive from the east, so every meal or outing requires a bit of a drive, but nothing is all that far away. The room was very comfortable (the heat works well, but I can't speak to how it would be in the summer) and the bed is too, though maybe a bit too soft. The bedding was fresh and clean, and we were provided with a nice, new extra blanket on request. The view is incomparable, and it was lovely to sit in the lobby (thank you for the 24-hour hot water for tea!) or in our room just resting in the gorgeousness of it all. It is also nice that the Astoria River Trail is a slightly strenuous walk away so even being outside of town we could get a good walk in. Check-in was very easy and the staff were friendly. The continental breakfast was about average for a motel in this range, with a waffle maker, refrigerated yogurt and hard-boiled eggs, fruit, and a toaster for bagels or good multigrain bread (thanks for that, too!) Fancier breakfast options are just a short drive away. Our upstairs room was very quiet, probably due to us being there early in the season. People enjoyed the outdoor hot tub but with a 10:00 pm curfew their enjoyment didn't keep us awake. The addition of an EV charging station would be a nice perk, one I would pay a few more dollars for, but there are a couple of good ones in town.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. I did look into your reservation to see if I can understand what went wrong, and I did see notes that you had asked to check in early, which we can do if the room is clean and ready. We have no problems with checking our guests in early if we can. However, we do not give out room numbers until you get your keys, and we do not give keys to guests until they have checked in. This is for multiple reasons, but the top 2 reasons is because we will assign you the first clean room unless you have a specific room # you are waiting on, and we wont know what the first room clean will be until we find out from our head housekeeper what is clean and ready. The second reason is when guests do have the knowledge of the room number, majority of the time they take that as an invitation to harass the housekeeper as to how much longer it will be until they can have it. I have had guests take their belongings in the room while the housekeeper was still working. As for giving you a key prior to check in, its the same reason. There was an altercation with you and a front desk clerk because they would not tell you the room number, or give you a key without payment. We will not allow harassment of any kind on any of our staff for early check ins, or room numbers. We do not guarantee room numbers, we simply take requests. If the room you requested is available, we will assign it to you. Again, we apologize if this policy made your stay an unpleasant one, but we do not allow harassment on any of our employees for any reason. We do have notations that will pop-up on all future reservations made that there has been an issue with this before, and in the future we will not allow you to make any reservations if this continues. Thank you for understanding.

The view over looking the river is awesome. staff had several great dinning options, we went with T Pauls dinner club and was really good. Had some lightning and would have used the hot tub but no suit this trip.

The hotel needs to be updated. Clear gaps in the front door can fully see light through the gaps. Screen door on patio feel off as opening it. There is a oder in the room too. Also you can hear everyone outside while your doors are closed up. The price was not worth it. Still better then a motel 6.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I looked into your reservation and you booked our queen pet friendly no-view room. These are our smallest rooms. They are what's left of the original property and those rooms were built in 1952, which is why they are smaller. I am not sure if you had a pet with you or not, but if even if you do travel with a pet, we have much larger rooms with views that may be a better selection. We do provide photos on the booking site that give a pretty good look at the size of the room.

It's been many years since I last stayed at the Crest, which had always been reliably nice. Clean rooms, nice view hot tub and friendly staff. It's since been upgraded as well; the hot tub has been updated, there is a much bigger lobby space that includes a larger area to have breakfast and the breakfast offerings far exceed what used to be offered. Very nice.
