Real country pub

Excellent stop over in rural Kent. Clean and stylish room. Good food. Negatives: noise from the room above us and a shower that did not drain properly

The bedroom was recently decorated and it had a good shower and was well stocked with tea coffee water etc. The pub served a good variety of menu options - steak pie, lamb shank and breakfast were very nice and there was a nice choice of real ale. The best bit was the service provided by Sandy, Paige and Eugenie - they were excellent.

Country pub with Restaurant and rooms.

Nice room and Bathroom, Restaurant was good. Staff were great. My only issue was the lighting in the bar and restaurant, although they are ornamental exposed light bulbs, they are very bright on the eyes.

Liked the warm welcome. The room was small but perfectly adequate. Only slight problem was that it was directly on the road and only had curtains, so had to change with the curtains drawn and the light on. Bathroom was clean and the towels were proper bath towels. Beds were comfortable. Great dining room with beautiful views across the fields. Breakfast was awesome and service excellent.

The pub is lovely and in a rural setting that requires driving down narrow country lanes with passing places to reach it. We were taken to our room and shown how to operate the door onto the balcony. We were also given instructions about not leaving the bathroom door open during or straight after a shower as the steam would set off the smoke alarm. I don’t think it should be incumbent on the guest to remember this. Maybe a less sensitive smoke alarm should have been installed or placed elsewhere in the bedroom. The room and bathroom were lovely, newly decorated, luxurious and with a beautiful chandelier in the bathroom. There was a bath and a walk-in shower but no door on the shower so water escaped onto the bathroom floor. The water did not drain away either and we had to remove the shower drain stopper to get rid of the water as we showered. The bedroom had loads of storage space, a very comfortable queen-size bed and super deep-pile carpet. The only thing missing was that there was not one single mirror in the bedroom! This made it very difficult for drying hair and putting makeup on. A very poor oversight. The balcony was equipped with two rattan chairs and cushions and we enjoyed a nightcap there. We ate dinner and breakfast at the pub. The food was tasty and fresh but service was slow and we had to wait a long time for food on both occasions. At breakfast, we waited 30 mins before our order was taken. A pleasant stay nonetheless.

Superb friendly welcome from the second I arrived, well organised and the room was lovely, very quaint and made a change to the carbon copy corporate hotels I normally stay in, food & beer was great and staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Only negative I had was that the WiFi did not work in my room, but the positive meant I couldn't work late. Highly recommended and I will definitely be staying again soon.

Weekend away

A country Pub/Hotel in lovely countryside. Beautiful clean room with much character. Tasty fresh cooked food served by very friendly and helpful staff. Very COVID aware making you feel safe and secure. Will definitely stay here again.

Arrived for a 3 nights stay having travelled 6 hrs in the car & booked weeks ago. Terrible smell in room. Told staff that we could not stay there , was told they would try & find another room. Was asked by a member of staff if we would like a drink , which we took as being complementary for the inconvenience. Shocked when asked if we wanted to pay then or book it down to the room.

The Bowl Inn was one of our stops walking The Pilgrim's Way. A lovely pub with newly converted rooms on top of the pub. Lovely, friendly staff, and great food, for both dinner and breakfast. The only downside is that it's about 1.5 miles north of the lovely village of Charing, which was on our walk-route, so a bit of an extra climb to get there (and back down, the next morning). But very much worth it.

Aangenaam logement met een echt pub gevoel.Zelfs aan de goedkoopste kamer is zorg besteed.De ligging is afgelegen maar dat was voor ons een zeer groot pluspunt. Je kan er behoorlijk eten en nadien nog iets drinken zonder nog te moeten auto rijden Na sluitingstijd (23.30u) valt de stilte over de Bowl Inn .

Loved the location of this pub, the views over the countryside were gorgeous. The pub itself has a good selection of food and drinks with both staff and locals very friendly! The staff were really super. Couldn’t do enough for us! Dinner was easy as we ate in the pub, well cooked and a good range of dishes. They made us breakfast parcels for the next morning as we were leaving early which was really kind. The room was clean and furnished nicely. Bathroom had a good powerful shower, soft towels and nice soaps and extras. Bed was comfortable with good quality linens. Only down was Room 4 is next to a generator or some pump that spins up every 15 minutes, waking you throughout the night. Wouldn’t recommend this room because of that! So all in all really great place to stay!
