Great front desk staff; awful bathroom
Very good front desk service. Rooms are good. Bathrooms are terrible. There is just a tiny little ledge to put toiletries on. Not enough for a couple. The sink is a narrow-rimmed bowl with a narrow rim, and no solid rounding surface to put things on either. We had 2 rooms, and one do them had a smelly mildewed shower curtain. How can housekeeping not notice this?

The rooms are very small and not clean. Despite we were two, towels and amenities were for one guest. When we asked, they were unfriendly and left them at the door.

My family stayed a night at this hotel in mid-Dec 2019. It was a snowy day when we arrived and we were greeted with a warm and efficient check in. The hotel offers hot coffee round the clock at the lobby and don’t forget to try their nightly complimentary ramen. The Japanese room we had was a good size for family of 4. I personally love the open air onsen where you can soak and relax, watching the snow flakes fluttering down from above. Thumbs up to the great service!

The room is too small but overall ok. The staff is nice. Wonderful hot spring and you may enjoy the free Ramen at night time.

15 mins walk from JR station to the hotel. The hotel is near the shopping street. However, the bathroom is quite small.

Dormy Inn
I prefer to stay at Dormy Inns, they are always clean, the onsens are great and the breakfasts are fantastic, add in the very helpful and polite staff and what more could ask for.

interior is old. it has no option to add an extra bed; even though we booked it with 2x adults and 1x 14 years old child. the booking system asked how many adult and child, we stated it honestly, and booked a 3 persons room. eventually one person has to sleep on the floor

Comfortable stay
Room size is not big but the furniture layout is great so we feel comfortable with it. Clean and new interior! Will choose to stay in the same hotel if we are back to Asahikawa again.

Low key modern spa hotel
On arrival parking was confusing, but we'd found the dormy lot after circling the block, it was full, but a staff member ran out to direct us to their overflow lot. Which is just across the street. This hotel offered free late night ramen which tasted great and revived us after driving for hours and arriving late in the evening. The rooms felt clean and comfortable. There is a spa bath on the top floor. It's traditional style where you bath with strangers of the same sex. It felt like a low key modern hotel. Would stay again

We book a non smoking room, indicated on confirmation email and request, but the hotel staff insisted we booked a smoking room and speak to us rudely. We even show them our confirmation email stated ‘non smoking room’ but the lady refuse to believe us !! What a strange attitude and a not so pleasant experience. We had never encounter a rude staff in Japan and always have good experience in all the hotel we booked. This is unacceptable. Disappointed.

Best breakfast Buffett on our 3 week trip. Room was spacious, and location had restaurants and convenience store readily available. Close enough to Biei blue pond, and Furano flower fields.

Amazing stay, we loved it. Onsen was modern, relaxing and not so busy, free ramen was as a bonus and room was comfortable too. We also liked walking around the hotel with slippers and hotel robe provided. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Parking was next door where you take a ticket and pay ¥800/day at reception instead of ¥500 hourly charge. Highly recommend.

Room is clean and compact. Bigger than Dormy Inn Abashiri stayed two nights ago. Onsen is spacious with cold bath big indoor bath and a smaller open air bath. Free laundromat with detergent provided. Breakfast doesn’t come with grilled scallop anymore. Usual spread of grilled vege, Japanese food and western fare. Dessert is melon jelly and Swiss roll on the day. Live up to the standard of Dormy Inn. Free ramen as supper is welcome treat after taking a hot bath and waiting for the dryer (with fee) to complete the laundry.

Great!
Best value hotel we stayed in during our Japan travels. The room is bigger than the usual Japanese hotel rooms, was spotlessly clean and did include a little bathroom. Staff were friendly and the extras of the really nice Onsen area was really wonderful and gave a spa like feel to the hotel. Everything was perfect really, the only complaints would be that WiFi was a bit spotty and car parking was quite expensive.

The 3 nights stay was really good. The counter staffs are very helpful and overall the room is nice. Just a bit of walking distance to asahikawa station esp a bit tough during heavy snow/winter, will be a plus if they provide shuttle bus service.

a bit far from JR station. will suggest to take cab when you visiting during winter, it costs about 600 yen. laundry is free. you just need to pay for dryer. breakfast was fantastic.

Where gaijins not welcome, Dormy still dependable
This is one of the older Dormy Inns. Condition is lacking but the basics are still there. Breakfast is more expensive than most Dormys, but it is still reasonable taking into account the free flow of Ikura and wide range of grilled fish. Asahikawa is not a foreigner-friendly city. I ran into a restaurant that refuses to serve "any gaijin". I told the owner he should put up a sign stating "We do not serve Gaijins" at his door and not wait for us to go in to tell us.
