"The location of this lodge is amazing, offering a serene setting to enjoy the wildlife of Tanzania when not on safari. The lodge sits on the edge of a marsh and gave us multiple terrace options (including a private one attached to our room) to do some bird watching. While there , we saw the African fish eagle and Black-and-white cascade hornbill, songbirds too many to count, along with some visiting Vervet monkeys. "Yes there is a bumpy 15 minute ride from the main road but the pay off is a tranquil environment to relax at Kili Villa. Our room had a lovely outlook to the gardens where local fauna and birds did their thing. The staff were welcoming and courteous, and the food was delicious. Perhaps the experience could have been improved with better communication about food and drink options when we arrived (with an explanation card). There are no other options for F&B in the area (aside from the golf club)...
