"Four years ago, we stayed at the Hotel Les Grands Montets as part of our Tour du Mont Blanc ten-day trek. We had two nights there as we prepared for our last two legs of hiking on our trek. Unfortunately, poor weather did not permit us to take the preferred route to the Lac Blanc -- wind and precipitation made that leg too dangerous. We did an alternate route. We decided to complete the Lac Blanc section one day. This year, we completed that leg of the trip under excellent weather...

"This is a fabulous property with lovely owners that take a lot of time and care with their property and guests. The space is cozy, rooms have lovely views, and it's close enough to the main town of Courmayeur without being too busy. It's also close to the funiculare to Point Helbronner and the Torino Hut, which was our primary destination for technical mountaineering on our trip. We would absolutely stay here again!"

"Great staff, especially Roman and Lucy at Reception. They were so welcoming and offered great tips for dining and parking around Chamonix during UMTB week. I wouldn’t recommend staying here without a car since it’s a little off the beaten path, but it was a great home base for our trip. "

"My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Mason La Sax. The owners were there on site and took amazing care of everything. They even did our laundry, helped us find our way around town, and guided us back to the TMB trail after a very needed few rest days. I couldn’t recommend this place more! "
