"The hotel is off the beaten path and sits above Dingwall and anyone taking mass transportation to Dingwall should be aware that taxi and bus service to the property is limited. If you are carrying light luggage, and you are healthy and feel inclined, you can walk the 20 minutes from the train terminal. I cannot overstate that the walk is all uphill! "I stayed at the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch with my dog. The golf course and surrounding area are absolutely stunning — clearly a lot of care goes into keeping them in top condition. "The rooms and common areas are opulent and luxurious. The grounds are wonderfully manicured with exceptional views out to the sea. There is even a haunted castle ruin on site!
