Hotel Dekat Arcata Plaza

"Nice historic building in the center of town. Very nicely maintained and the staff are quiet but friendly enough. The back of the hotel can get noisy with nightly alley mini parties. Our bed was basically U-shaped and we struggled to not roll into the middle of the bed. That was our only complaint. Parking is excellent and there’s a very good sushi restaurant in the lobby. There’s also a good number of places to eat around the plaza and in the surrounding neighborhoods."

"Easy access, comfortable beds, clean rooms. WiFi was not good. Coffee in the breakfast area was pretty bad. We didn't eat the breakfast so I can't rate it. We did use the pool, (cold water) and hot tub. Enjoyed them."

"No "real" person at the front desk for check-in. The virtual attendant had a microphone that kept cutting out and it took three of us to figure out what she was saying and instructing us to do. There did not appear to be any staff on site and it did not feel safe. Extra flooring planks were left in the hallway with caution tape wrapped around them. "Only 1 complaint. Hard surface floors were sticky, having not been rinsed. Not sure how housekeepers aren’t trained and don’t know. I left a polite note describing the issue and asking to rinse the floors. Note and tip were gone - floors still sticky."

"First want to start with the front desk lady was great! She had little coloring books set for kids and gave us one. Super kind. Last day we were there, I always strip the bed sheets. When I did I found bugs. I called and spoke to someone they expressed concern and offered compensation. A day later, I called them, they said it was simply just a lady bug. "Istayed at the hotel for a week.It reeked of mold. We found mold underneath the bed. They were supposed to move us to a different room. They never did. The refrigerator didn't work. I had to argue with them to get a refrigerator the room was facing the alleyway next to dumpsters. We're a lot of homeless we're smoking drugs.Meth pipes on the ground said they sort of continental breakfast.There was nothing there but a packet of instant oatmeal and a still no name granola bar, they considered that...

"We are elderly so carrying our bags up the stairs to our room was not ideal but other than that there is not one complaint about the beautiful room we stayed in. It was obviously just completely renovated and they did a fabulous job with it! I would have liked a comfortable chair to read in but the bed was great and the lighting was excellent! I great stay for the money. Be prepared for a video check in. The wave of the future??? I hope not!"

"This hotel had all the amenities advertised, available and in good order. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. There was lots of choice for breakfast from cereal and toast, cooked eggs and bacon to make your own mini waffles. Coffee was great. The town of Eureka was great and the Friday Night Street Market had good entertainment as well as a choice of local produce stalls. Only wish we were staying another night."
