The hotel was cute and staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect with so many different options of dining, shopping and entertainment in walking distance.

I liked that the front desk people were so helpful. I also liked that the hotel had a voucher for parking nearby which was great. The room I stayed in had a claw foot bathtub which was wonderful. Next time I come to Arcata I will stay at the Hotel Arcata again.

The location was great. The building is historic and is really cool. The rooms are above a sushi restaurant so the rooms and hallways get very smoky/smelly at night. They did not have a hair dryer in the room and due to the age of the building, the coffee maker tripped the room’s circuit breaker. The evening front desk attendant was very nice and helpful, however, the guy working the front desk in the morning didn’t make eye contact, didn’t greet guests and generally didn’t have good customer service skills. Overall, it was a nice stay but wouldn’t stay there again.

Wonderful experience inside the hotel. Staff provided good service and we loved the historical photos along the walls. The room was clean and even the old clawfoot tub shower was powerful and hot. The free breakfast was merely adequate. Unfortunately the town square outside the hotel was full of unhoused folks who either asked for money or just laid in their own waste. Walking back to the hotel after dinner was nerve racking.

The hospitality and welcoming at this hotel was outstanding. I was traveling on my own and felt safe and taken care of especially by Sherrie, the owner of the establishment. The room was comfortable and quaint with its historical charm. The included breakfast was more than sufficient and the restaurant located within the hotel was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by my extreme positive experience in this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to the beautiful and welcoming town of Arcata. I will definitely return. It’s an old building, which I like, but old building doesn’t excuse mildew/mold on the window curtains and overall cleanliness (or lack of). The location is great although the outside people like to gather in front of the liquor store and the closed businesses adjacent to the property. Overall I would stay there again because I love the location and I love the price.

This is a charming and historic spot along the 101. Rather than stop at some big chain hotel / motel, we opted for a little bit of history. The place is perfectly located off the Arcata town square and was perfectly suited for our stay. Conveniently located near restaurants and shopping. Close to outdoor activities and good hikes. I would caution if you need the most fancy and updated space this might not be for you, but then those people aren't considering this old hotel to begin with.

The property is is nice, like a historical building, I didn’t like the shower curtains they look pink (moldy) on the bottom, the blanket is a little too thin for the area, everything else it was nice.

The Hotel is old and thus the rooms are small with decent bathrooms. Shower was over a claw-foot tub that required ability to climb into the tub. Otherwise it was just as expected. A little funky but not in a bad way.

We love staying at Hotel Arcata! Just be mindful when booking rooms at the back of the hotel borders an alley and the garbage and recycling trucks come first thing in the morning around 6am and is very loud so use earplugs. Plaza Suites are best and are on front of Hotel with a great view of Arcata Square. Breakfast is included. Great place overall

Nice hotel - an old place, now revived and comfortable. Arcata's plaza square and its surrounding shops are nice. Yeah, the homeless are there, but not so many (at least when I was there in December!).

Hotel service was good and it’s clearly a historic hotel. Very dated. Beds were not comfortable and area was very noisy. I was listening to people on the street all night and early in the morning. Did not attempt to shower in dated shower. Continental breakfast wasn’t great.

Hotel staff was great and the hotel was fun and vintage. Arcata has a terrible problem with homeless and drug addiction. We were approached and we we’re hassled a few times. Very unfortunate

This is an old, historic property in the heart of downtown Arcata that has been kept in good shape. Located on Arcata's main square, it gives you easy walking access to all of the quaint dining and shopping options downtown. There were several homeless on the main square but they were friendly and not threatening at all. Overall, we had a great stay and would stay there again.
