Beautiful desert flowers are starting to emerge after the recent rainfall in California. Seeds that had remained dormant in the parched soil, have suddenly come to life painting the desert floor with a myriad of colors. However, these flowers are short-lived, so enjoy!

Taken in the desert of California, somewhere near Anza Borrego. There was some great side lighting provided by the sun from the left of the image. The ideal moment for this image would have probably been a few minutes later when the sun had sunk a little lower but I was pressed on time and could not wait. Still this image turned out to be close to what I imagined in my head. Hope you like it.

Best time to visit Anza Borrego is around February-March when California receives it's annual rainfall. The desert here is alive with flowers at the time and the landscape is totally different.
