Very unhappy customer
Staff at reception were inexperienced. Although I am a gold member with hotels.com, it took them more than 1/2 hour to check me in. I had charges on my bill that were mine. It took them forever to sort the issue out. The same happened to other colleagues who stayed at the hotel at the same time. Additionally, we had to wait more than one hour in the shuttle waiting for one person who never showed up. This is unacceptable given that we had arrived after midnight after a 20 hour flight and we were charge 20 Euros per person.

The worst services I ever experienced
At the airport pick up, it was raining, the drivers did not even dare to look after the guests at the exit gate. Some random people ask if we have taxi booked and we responded that we have shuttle from Ibis. Then, they brought us to the driver outside. He was then busy arranging the baggage that are already in the car, with the back seats folded and left us outside wet under the rain pouring. the bags were moved in and out between cars. The checking went fine. there was no information of what I will expect in the hotel, what included in the booking, etc. Arriving at the room, the door was hard to open. the key did not work for quite longtime. the Hotel staff thought that my key was expired since it was held near a phone. After pushing with force, the door finally opened. One employee come back to return some staff for me and I have difficulty to open the door from inside. The room smells humidity so mu allergies kicked in immediately. one lampstand did not work. The internet is so bad. the water in the shower was very small. the rain at the airport is better than the water from the shower. At the breakfast time, apparently, my room was booked without breakfast, while it was advertised during my booking that it is included. I asked if it can be included and I will pay. The reception team( 2 young ladies) said that they cannot change it. So I decided to move out to a better hotel. At 9am, they ask my room key if I move out while my room is paid until noon.

I spent 2-nights at the Ibis while waiting for my covid-19 test results when arriving in country (a requirement for entry into Madagascar). This means I was confined to the room for the majority of the stay. The room was clean, good temperature control and comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good water pressure. During quarantine I ordered room service which had a good selection (Amy's Place restaurant), prompt and reasonably priced. Tip: they have to bring you the menu, so I just took photos of all the pages on my phone for later use. Wifi is good, strong enough to stream and even sustain a VPN. After quarantine: They called me the 2nd night that my test results came back and I could leave. The last morning i enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant which was lovely. All the staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. My only comment is it would be good to create an info sheet to leave in the rooms about the rules - how to do breakfast, when to expect a call, etc, but the quarantine rules were still very new so i suspect that everyone is still trying to figure things out. Thank you for making an annoying situation more comfortable.

A good address in the Ankorondrano biz district !
Well located no-nonsense 2* + / 3* - pied a terre if you have to do business in the Ankorondrano district. IBIS is a brand from the Accor Hotel group and all fittings are at European standards. Ask for the view over the garden/swimming pool. The staff is courteous and well trained though checking in at around midnight was very slow.

Bad experience with the receptionist.
I asked the reception before booking the room if that chèques vacance were accepted and they confirmed positively. But at my arrival they didn’t. Then a asked to pay the day before I leave the room to avoid waisting my time cause I had to leave early the next morning. I paid after like 20 minutes of discussion. Then the next morning I went to the rep ruin to give back the key and they asked me to pay one night cause the day before one of them forget to count my last night. I had to spend 30 minutes to pay and have an explanation. Poor service and really slow. Mora mora they said there. Really disappointed. Sure it is safe and well located. I don’t recommend it at all.

2 Nights at Tana
I thought the hotel was good. Ofcourse IBIS standards... Something went missing from my room and noone took responsibility. It was something with not a lot of monetary value, but still, things can't go missing. Restaurant was good serving some Indian food. What suprised me was they had a bar but no snacks to eat with the drinks in the vegetarian part. Also, we reserved the SPA for 2 people at a particular time, but when we reached to get the service, we were told that only one of us can get it done, with no mention of Sorry or why that happened. But again, i am not sure about service levels at IBIS, I am not used to staying at IBIS a lot. Am forced to choose this hotel, as the other decent hotels of Tana are in Town and traffic is killing.

The rooms had a clean, modern design - efficiency of space, yet attractive. The hotel's lighting was designed to reduce energy waste. Lights could not be left on in the room while gone - the room key was also used to light the room. Once removed, the lights were turned off. Other parts of the hotel such as stairwells and corridors conserved energy as well. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a good selection of very tasty dishes. The buffet breakfast was also very satisfying. Overall, a great experience. I would highly recommend.

Poor secruity, stolen case!
Totally upset and angry! Lost the laptop in the room, how come someone could go inside to steal it! Poor secruity, even talked with General Manger, there is still helpless and extremely disappointed. No CCTV in corridor. Would you able to give the reason ?

Overpriced, poor quality meals. Bad waiters!
Rooms are very basic, but has most of what you need. Good & reliable internet! Meals are very over priced especially breakfast for what they offer. Waiters are unfriendly and not very helpful - I complained about the food (bad quality & small portions) to 2 waiters and they basically ignored me. To give an idea we bought water/ soft-drinks/ snacks at the supermarket (Leader Price) across the road and it was around 8 times cheaper than what they charged for exactly the same item at the hotel.

Business hotel, with an excellent restaurant
The Ibis dining room is modest and airy, but the food is delicious. The staff is cheery, and someone to help you whenever you need it. Everything still rings new and clean. Definitely upper-end 3*, one might say 4*. Fitness room and outdoor pool make up for the surrounding area, which is not very inviting.

Quiet, clean place with great pool
I think Ibis is mostly for business travelers, with tourists staying closer to town. The Ibis is between town and the airport. Everything is as you would expect, except the restaurant, which is a great surprise serving wonderful food, better than some of the 5* restaurants in-town, albeit, not with as much atmosphere :-). Nice outdoor pool, good for laps or relaxing. Friendly staff.

Very good breakfast, but expensive. Very good room, but alternative pillows are needed. Fitness center has very good quality equipment and massage therapy. Dinners fair to good, and ambiance needs improvement. Only one English language tv channel, repetitive BBC news. Most Staff polite and efficient. However “control staff person” should not barge into room without waiting for guest to open door. Excellent room WiFi speed and reliability. Main problem is the neighborhood is high traffic and air pollution and has squatter housing across the street. Convenient grocery store with food court across street, but advised not to walk anywhere else. Hotel has reliable drivers available. Swimming pool looks nice, but it was a cool time of year so I did not use it. Bird watchers should visit nearby Tsaraostra Park ramsarsite by taxi.

Decent business like hotel
Decent for one nighter but overall very business like hotel. Also in terrible busy area. Has breakfast upon payment and one bottle of water free rest is all on payment.

According hotel webpage airport shuttle available on request, but there was none when asked reseption.. Used local taxi then. A/C at room was not very good, mosquitos in the room appeared happy. Restaurant food , and breakfast was good, and waiters were good as well. Poer went off several times, but quess considered normal in tha city. However, overall satisfactory believe I will use the hotel again.

Staff lack professionalism
I don't really review hotels anymore since the introduction of the new reviewing model, but there were things during my stay that were worth mentioning. First, it's a three star hotel and rates itself as much, so a review above three stars is not realistic. The hotel is not very close walking distance to the main attractions, so expect to take a taxi just to get to places like Independence Square and the market. When entering the hotel, you may not notice at first, but the foyer is covered in bugs and mosquitoes. I took pictures, but the insects are too small to make out on a camera. The TV only has one channel in English and it never worked any day of my stay. The main problem I had with the hotel is a lack of professionalism. One evening I came into the hotel and walked passed the reception desk to the lifts. I then realised I had a question and turned back around to find that they were muffling laughter aimed at me, as they tried to look serious again after I unexpectedly returned so quickly. I would have put it down to something like the tear in my shorts I got while sightseeing, but it happened a couple other times where I caught other staff whispering to each other while looking at me then giggling. Whether it all could have been 'harmless' or not, I would never stay at a place that made me feel uncomfortable once, let alone multiple times. There were staff members who were nice, but overall, I couldn't wait for my stay in the hotel to end.

Good hotel overall, but air conditioning in rooms do not work well. I had three different rooms in two nights and in none of them did the air conditioning work very well. Other than that, the rooms are clean, the beds are decent and the food in the restaurant is good.

Probably the most modern and best maintained hotel in Antananarivo. Located in the business district, not downtown. If you're looking for charm, go elsewhere; for functionality though, this is the place.
