I don't really review hotels anymore since the introduction of the new reviewing model, but there were things during my stay that were worth mentioning. First, it's a three star hotel and rates itself as much, so a review above three stars is not realistic.
The hotel is not very close walking distance to the main attractions, so expect to take a taxi just to get to places like Independence Square and the market. When entering the hotel, you may not notice at first, but the foyer is covered in bugs and mosquitoes. I took pictures, but the insects are too small to make out on a camera. The TV only has one channel in English and it never worked any day of my stay.
The main problem I had with the hotel is a lack of professionalism. One evening I came into the hotel and walked passed the reception desk to the lifts. I then realised I had a question and turned back around to find that they were muffling laughter aimed at me, as they tried to look serious again after I unexpectedly returned so quickly. I would have put it down to something like the tear in my shorts I got while sightseeing, but it happened a couple other times where I caught other staff whispering to each other while looking at me then giggling. Whether it all could have been 'harmless' or not, I would never stay at a place that made me feel uncomfortable once, let alone multiple times. There were staff members who were nice, but overall, I couldn't wait for my stay in the hotel to end.
