We stayed at the Walnut Cottage for five nights while we explored the wineries and eateries in the Barossa. The accommodation was absolutely brilliant with such lovely touches for example home made slice and chocolate fudge,so much bread, bacon and fresh eggs we couldn't get thru it all. A bottle of wine and port (we managed to get thru the wine, it was delicious). Our hosts could not have done anything more. It was a magnificent stay. Thank you Ken and Sue
The self catering cottage is a traditional stone cottage furnished and decorated in period style..it was very comfortable with air con as well as an open fire if needed. Wood supplied. The kitchen had everything needed including generous supplies of basic requirements and a welcome bottle of local wine. Easy walk to shops and cafes. Easy drive to wineries. Very helpful owner rang to arrange keys. Cannot recommend too highly.

Cute cottage with all you could want/need! We enjoyed our stay, especially the big bath!
Cottage had lots of extras to make your stay relaxing . Open wood fire was welcome on cold days and ducted air con gave added luxury. Sue left many breakfast provisions and was welcoming on arrival . Great stay.
We arrived at Walnut Cottage a bit disorientated thinking we had landed in the middle of nowhere, but the charming little cottage was so lovely and "old fashioned" and we really took to it. The owner had prepared a fresh baked loaf and slices which were delish, sadly the eggs and bacon etc provided to us in the fridge went unused due to the overindulgence in the Barossa. We sat outside in the sunshine and had our wine and cheeses listening to music and thought we were in heaven. The cottage actually is a stones throw away from the main street where there are a few choice of restaurant and bakery, but a 10 min drive to Tanunda where there are more choice, however it was extremely quiet and private. It was extremely clean and although it was period dated it was very very homely. The owners provide everything you could think of, it really is home from home and i would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage and would certainly visit again. The only reason i rate 4/5 above is purely personal choice as the bed to me was hard and we had to try both (2 bedrooms), the location although lovely could just do with a bit more choice, but that is because i don't want to drink and drive and have heard the taxis are a bit iffy. One thing i may add, would be if the owner would provide a personalised taxi service - not on a whim but an arranged booked trip to and from nearby restaurants i.e. Vintners - obviously for fee then this cottage would be a 6 out of a 5 for sure
A beautifully appointed heritage cottage nestled in spectacular garden. No effort is spared by hosts. Every facility is provided. A welcoming bottle of Barossa red and a freshly baked loaf of bread were the icing on the cake. Walking distance from excellent local restaurants. Cannot recommend more highly.
We had a wonderful stay here - it was close to amenities - cafes, restaurants, shops - where the food was superb. The cottage is charming and exceptionally clean - the best we have seen. We appreciated the food/drinks supplied at the cottage - really yummy. We very much enjoyed going to local places of interest - eg Maggie Beer's place, wineries, towns, shops, antique shops, lookouts. We bought traditional foods to take home - really delicious. All in all - we had the best time.
