Fantastic room, very clean and a good space. Hotel in general is very clean and in a great location. The staff were all really friendly and were happy to accommodate a couple of requests from us. Will definitely stay here again

The Hotel Frank is located in an upscale, central neighborhood with bar and restaurant options just around the corner. It's also a 15-minute walk to just about everything - the Rijksmuseum, the Royal Palace, etc. We stayed in the Royal Room with a view of the canal and it was fun to watch the world go by from bed. We'll be back!

Great location!
We loved our stay at Hotel Frank. Of note there is no elevator but staff carried our luggage up the stairs. It would be difficult for someone with issues walking. Otherwise it is in a fabulous location, very comfortable and clean.

Cool Property, but bring the ear plugs to sleep
It was fine. The big windows made the room REALLY hot during the day and evening. had the windows open to take advantage of the evening breeze, but it also brought in the cigarette smoke from the restaurant below. If you are in the city to play hard, this is a great location, but if you want to sleep before 4 am.... bring earplugs... Staff was great an helpful, especially to help with the luggage as the stairs are quite tricky... Overall a really cool property with a ton of character... Highly recommend if you are there for the nightlife. Lots of bars and restaurants to enjoy and close to the city tram.

Very interesting room, unique to its old age. Staff both friendly and helpful. Stairs are quite steep, but manageable by this 70-year-old couple.

Perfect room, location & staff. We were in a room below a cafe/restaurant and the noise that came from above was horrendous… we unfortunately got hardly and sleep and it was not a pleasant stay due to this noise. If I was to stay here again I would be requesting a different room to avoid the noise.

Lovely affordable hotel in the canal belt
Lovely little hotel, staff very friendly and helpful always smiling and greeting you as you enter and leave. Located on the Herengracht next to Rembrandtplein, easy to reach Museumplein and perfect to get your comfy shoes on and go on long walks exploring each canal and the side streets. Supermarket next door and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.

Charming and convenient
Recommended: A very nice place to stay. Close to shopping and sights. The room was quite comfortable: modern and clean shower and WC, large comfy bed, all well arranged. For a longer stay it might be nice to have a few more hooks and hangars. If you are coming from Centraal, you'll probably want to take a taxi: its a long walk. Like many places in Amsterdam the stairs a very steep. Be *sure* to check out the Italian restaurant across the canal

Great choice
Great location on canal with many cafes nearby. Very roomy as compared to many European city hotels. Crib was available for our baby to use. Very helpful staff. Would definitely stay again!

Worst hotel experience I have ever had
Late last year I booked a Classic Double for 2 nights at $300/night (plus tax) at the Hotel Frank. With, I thought, pictures to support my booking. Last week I was checked into a basement room with no windows. A room Iwouldn’t have paid $25/night for. When I complained, I was told the hotel had had other complaints, and recently clarified on Hotels.com that this was, indeed, a basement room. Too bad they never told me! I’m writing from my 15’x8’ room. All black, with LED strip lighting and three wall mirrors. Presumably to make the room look larger and brighter. But all this does is cheapen the experience further. While the room has an in suite bath, it is not a separate room. The bed faces the shower. Sink is on the bedroom wall. Only the toilet is behind a door. There is no closet or dresser. With 3 steps from the shower to my bed, there is no room for laying out luggage. Let alone share with a second person. Lastly, the room appears to be under a restaurant. I can hear footsteps and chairs sliding on the floor! At 11pm!! And again at 8am!!! It’s outrageous that a hotel could get away with such false advertising. And that when asked to return my pre-payment so that I could find another hotel to stay with, the hotel staff could only shrug and say “you booked a basement room, there is nothing I can do”. But it would be even more outrageous if, after reading this review, sites I rely on for regular travel booking continue to carry the Hotel Frank on their platform.

Unfortunately, we cannot change/upgrade your room due to being fully booked. We realize you were not sure what kind of room type you booked during your arrival which cause you to be unpleasant. We believe other different room types are better for you. We are always welcome and hope to see you next time by any chance.

Really nice and quaint rooms overlooking the canal. The family managing the hotel were so nice and will ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Truly impressed with their service snd attention to detail. Close to lots of dining options. No elevator and very steep stairs but the hotel staff will help you with luggage and anything else. Ask for higher floors as there are restaurants at the street level where you may hear some noise during the night hours when they are open. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Character hotel but noisy at night
We received a warm welcome at Hotel Frank and every attention was given to make us welcome and comfortable. However, the steep stairs to our room were somewhat of an issue for one of our family members with a broken ankle (no lift). The room was clean and tastefully decorated- it had character. However, the greatest problem was the noise during the night. Our bedroom window was on the side and all the noise in the Rembrandt Plein around the corner could be heard throughout the night. Even with earplugs it was disturbing. However, this was obviously not any fault of the hotel. We should have checked the location a little more clearly before booking.

The hotel has some challenging stairs, but the staff is beyond amazing. Everyone was incredibly accommodating and truly concerned for the happiness of our stay.
