"There were ice machines on every floor however, none of them worked. There were no signs on the machines indicating they were out-of-order. When we checked in we were not informed about this. We had to get ice at the bar. The paint around doors was chipped. The bar and restaurant decor was outdated. The managers reception was a nice touch. Overall, the hotel was a good value for the price."

"The hotel was fine for what we needed but it's older and need of repairs. The elevator was down when we arrived so we had to carry quite a bit of luggage upstairs. They took the sign down the second day but it was still acting sketchy. The dishwasher in our room had a "Do Not Use" sign. One of the pillowcases had a orange stain on it. I think it was clean, just stained but we didn't use it just in case. The bathroom floor was warped so the door didn't open all the way but we were able to work around it. Overall, the hotel was fine for just being there two days but I'm not sure I would want to stay longer."

"Initially, the staff were nice. When I went ro the room, the door was unlatched. Nothing looked disturbed, so overlooked it. There was one hand towel, one washcloth and a bathmat. The shower rod was pulling from the wall. The night staff was apologetic and brought clean towels and a washcloth. Said new housekeepers and were having communication problems, dryer wasn't working. In the morning, discovered the water was not working in the tub/shower. The staff offered a key to a different room, but we wound up just washing up at the sink. There was no stopper in the sink, and a toothpaste cap was in the drain.There was leftover food in the refrigerator. We had a puppy, and he got stickers in his paws when we took him potty. My husband went for breakfast and there were crumbs and empty containers. When we left, i looked again and they had refilled some containers, but we were done. Rethink and give them time to correct issues. April 13, 2026"

"Lubbock Texas and DoubleTree were never two words I would’ve put together. I came back to Lubbock for an event and while searching hotels found there was a DoubleTree on Ave Q. Being a retired public servant in that community I knew from past experience it wasn’t a desirable location, but was pleasantly surprised to see the area and changed heavily and was quite pleasant. Scott at the front seat was professional and kind. Check in was seamless and accommodations were mostly great. The bathrooms and showers are small so if you are a person of size you may consider an ADA room if available for toilet and shower comfort. I had an issue with the power outlets in my room and was promptly moved to another room that was in working order. Claraboya Scratch Kitchen was amazing. Slightly pricey, but would definitely eat there again. Bar staff were excellent. My only complaint is regarding beds. The bed was hard. Comfort and adequate sleep were lacking in otherwise what I would call a wonderful stay. Improved beds with a pillow top or even a a better quality mattress would make this a 5 star stay in my book. From a former Lubbock resident I would stay again. Just need that better bed. "

"It was in a great location, the gym was nice, the breakfast was good, but all in all it was average to the Hampton inn or Holiday inn Express I typically go to. "
