Engage your sense of adventure and navigate the giant hedge maze at Amaze’n Margaret River. Surrounding this planted puzzle are landscaped botanical gardens filled with birds and native plants, an 18-hole mini golf course and more mazes. There is something for all ages at this popular attraction.
The star of the show is the giant maze. It covers an area of about 0.5 hectares (1.2 acres), consists of 2,000 hedging plants and has 3-metre (9.8-feet) high walls. Walk along 1.5 kilometres (0.9 miles) of paths to solve the puzzle. Once you have found your way out, tackle Amaze’n Margaret River’s smaller mazes.
There are many other games and puzzles to play while you are here. These include giant chess and draughts, hopscotch and outdoor table puzzles, such as snakes and ladders. Challenge each other to a round of mini golf and let the children run around the playground.
Enjoy a stroll through the 5 hectares (12.4 acres) of landscaped gardens. These gardens include West Australian native plants species and are home to numerous species of bees, birds, butterflies and many other types of animals. All of the paths through the gardens are wheelchair accessible. Stop at some of the several seating areas and take in the gorgeous scenes of nature in bloom.
Bring a picnic with you for your visit and take advantage of the shaded picnic areas with free gas barbecues. Alternatively, visit the café for refreshments.
This fun attraction is about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) south of the town of Margaret River. There is no public transport access, but on-site car parking is free. Alternatively, you can walk or cycle from the town along the Wadandi Walking Track.
