"Loved walking around and shopping in charming, old Swiss Appenzell as well as the variety of restaurants. Our room was comfortable and the owner and employees’ attention to details made it special, like a terrarium in the bathroom, good breakfast included, limited parking in their lot, and a large selection of tv channels. "

"This was the perfect hotel to stay in, as it was right in the heart of Appenzell and made everything accessible by foot. Bonus points for the parking lot for our rental car."

"Our stay was wonderful. The room was clean and spacious. The sister hotel, Hotel Romantik Santis, was also excellent. The sauna is located offsite (not at Hecht) but was easy to reserve. Also, I highly recommend the restaurant at Santis. The food, wine menu, and service were outstanding."

Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet alles was man braucht über Heiss- und Kaltgetränke, Joghurt, Käse, Aufschnitt, Pancakes, diverse Brote usw."

"Great hotel - automated check in was easier than expected. Free laundry right outside our door. Hotel restaurant is great. Only negative comment is we are not a fan of carpet in hotel rooms. Carpet was clean but prefer uncarpeted floors."
