"Going in we knew it was a historic building but the room was dark and minimal compared to other similar facilities we have stayed at. No one was at the desk to check us in, we had to call on phone at desk to pay for parking before getting code to lock box for key to room. There was no mention of a code to get back in the building in the evening. Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast. Beautiful area with an old church and covered bridge."

"The hotel was conveniently located close to train station. The outdoor patio area is lovely place to enjoy drinks and take in the beautiful views. We were very disappointed that the pool and hot tub were under renovations and not usable. One of the main reasons we picked this hotel was to have a hot tub and pool to enjoy the amazing views. "Room had balcony with partial view of Lake Brienz and beautiful views of Mount Jungfrau with beautiful green valley and mountains near hotel which has a pool. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast had good coffee choices and the best flavored yogurts. We met the owner, Alex, hitchhiking from the hotel to the train station who drove us several times either from Interlaken from his famous Aare Korean BBQ restaurant to his hotel or to train station. "This was our favorite hotel of our 9-day Switzerland trip. Excellent location about a 5-minute walk from Wengen train station. Staff are warm and helpful. Great amenities like the water bottle refill stations and the always-available coffee machine, live music two nights per week, and in-house bar with great vibes. But my favorite was the spa!
