I loved Magnums. We had a triple room with an en-suite and the space was great. The large double commercial kitchen downstairs was always busy but always with enough space to cook. It felt like a tropical resort with lush green trees everywhere.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The property feels a bit like a rainforest with all the trees and canopies. The mattress and the cabin in whole were a bit dated. We didn’t care for the shower (curtain) set up and the way the shower pan had been patched up. The AC was super powerful and we also had a ceiling fan, which was great with all the humidity. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

The cabin was comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked well so the room was always cool, even with very hot temperatures outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. The shared bathroom was maintained well. There were a lot of bugs around all the time as cabins are surrounded by trees.

Things we liked: Friendly staff Spacious room In the city centre Could book tours from the reception Things we didn't like: Bathroom was outdated and water pressure was too much and difficult to regulate. Water temperature was sometimes interchanging between cold and hot.

Had a great time here! Stayed just one night, arrived after hours, so phoned ahead to let reception know. They advised they would pop a key in a safe box for us and text us the pin number, which they did. Super smooth check in. The room was fine, and the overall layout and feel of the place was great! Excellent location, right across the street from the lagoon. The friendly reception staff were happy to mind our bags for a few hours after we checked out. Highly recommend this place 😊

I liked the setting very much. You felt like you were walking through a rain forest even though you are right in the centre of the main street. The communal areas are very clean, I liked having an electric kettle, some crockery, cutlery and a small fridge in the room. Shops, bars, cafes and restaurants are right on the doorstep. The beach and a swimming area are just a short walk away.

Beautiful setting for this backpackers. Being in our 40s, my friend and I like our home comforts. To find that there are 2 showers to every 6 rooms, and are attached to each accommodation block was great, it not just a massive shower block miles from the room. The showers are really good. Reception staff are wonderful, so helpful and friendly.

A jungle feel within a popular resort.
We stayed in Cabin 74, it had a nice outlook overlooking a hammock and a picnic table. Although the shops were nearly, we felt as though we were in the jungle. In the accommodation, the windows were dirty, the blind wasn't working properly and there were no fly screens. It was still nice though.

Centrally placed. Parking easy and convenient particularly for cabin 67. All required facilities present and functional. I cannot think of a better place to stay next visit.

Beautiful setting, very close to the Main Street which has everything you need from groceries to pub’s and restaurants. The tour companies have pick up locations very close also. You can walk to just about everything and the pool is also very close.

One of the nicest hostels I have been to! We got a private room and although it was small it was exactly what we needed! There were cutlery and plates and bowls in our room if we needed and there was even a mini fridge! They even provided towels. The bathrooms were really nice, and the kitchen was in great condition and very clean! The property as a whole was great and it was in minutes walk of the beach and lagoon and about a one minute walk to Woolworth’s! Really pleasant stay and I would definitely come back again.

The cabin we stayed in was well equipped and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Located in the centre of Airlie the property is in an ideal location.

Location is great as you are in the middle of everything- however the rooms are loud at night with music and such. Not a big deal for me, but it was for the other people I was traveling with. Very basic- but again this room is for location and price. If you want more of a hotel with comfort- don’t stay here. But if you are ok with the basics it is perfect place to stay.

Magnums is located in the centre of Airlie Beach and is within walking distance to all bars, restaurants, and the waterfront. The private cabins at the back of Magnums are set far enough back to avoid the noise of the (unrelated) Magnums Hotel (pub) next door. Note that some cabins are not located at the back of Magnums Accommodation so request a cabin at the back of the facility. Private cabins are only serviced on night 4 if staying 7 nights or longer. The shared dormitories are located closer to the main street and are exposed to more noise. Relevant to staying in private queen cabin: For the cost, the location and stay are what you would expect. Mini fridge, kettle, air conditioning (very good) are the main conveniences. The room is clean. The bed is ok but a bit too soft. The shower head was the one real gripe I had with this room as it provides very high pressure (uncomfortable, like needles on your skin) for very low flow rate. If looking to stay in Airlie Beach, be aware that many places are located up on the hill. Magnums is located very centrally in the flat part of town.

We were nervous about staying in a hostel as we had never stayed in one before. It exceeded all of our expectations. The location feels very secluded but is close to everything you need. Facilities were clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful in booking us excursions!

Loved staying at Magnums! Super central to the main drag in Airlie Beach and walkable to everything. Rooms were good, black out blinds, AC and a fan. The shared bathrooms in the hostel could be better looked after, if you are afraid of insects don't use the shared bathroom! It's all open so there was TONNES of moths and other critters running rampant. Other than the bathrooms, we totally enjoyed our stay and loved the nightly live music at the bar!

The accommodation is a nice layout with lots of nature around. The private room was basic but had everything I needed as I was not in the room often. The front of the hostel is a bar which is quite popular. Great, convenient location!

Being the other side of 50 I was worried about the party atmosphere of a backpackers out the front but there was not a noise in the accommodation. It was awesome especially when I thought it was 7am and woke up it was 9.25am. Loved it
