Great hotel in Ahangama
I had such a great time at Insight Resort. Very clean, nice hotel. With very helpful and polite staff, I’ve never felt unattended. Beautiful private beach access and spacious pool. I chose the room with sea view and enjoyed so much. The food at the restaurant was amazing and super fresh. Value and quality are really attractive! Will definitely come back!

I would rate "Insight" at 5 stars. Heaps of reasons to do so, especially because of the professional and attentive staff. However, I can only give them 4.9 stars... the music selection does not match the hotel environment. It's a beachfront hotel with a lot of surfers, but they play old Roy Orbison and Elvis music. Also, they play random Italian music. It's not bad music, it just doesn't fit the property. My opinion is they should have something more Bali Lounge / Bali Chill style. It would make breakfast buffet time so much more enjoyable... listening to beach chill music instead of random 1950s US songs. Besides that, 5 stars!!!

The hotel is super clean and safe and the staff are welcoming and friendly, however their manner is a bit off-putting as they only seem to know two words: "Room Number". Even after two weeks, the waiters at breakfast asked me my room number when they had seen me every day. The restaurant has no vibe whatsoever, long empty tables in a huge bright room. Your plates are cleared before you have finished your last mouthful of food, and you are brought the bill to sign without being asked if you want anything else. Waiters hover over you watching your every move as if you are not to be trusted - it can be quite disconcerting! The food however is great, and the Chef is amazing. He came out every morning to see if I liked the breakfast, and recommended certain dishes - he even made me a special pasta one evening as he knew I'd like it spicy. The information needs to be updated on the website/hotels.com site as, whilst this may be due to pandemic restrictions, if I had known certain things I would not have chosen this resort. As a coffee lover, they only have instant coffee, even at breakfast, it's disguised as filter coffee! No coffee bar. No snack bar/deli. There is only 1 (lovely) pool. No roof terrace. The Juice Bar is just a sign (it's a storage place for beach mattresses & towels). The picnic area is a bunch of wooden benches. No specific children's play area. No sun umbrellas at all. No beach loungers (pool area only). Gayan, one of the pool attendants was super though.

We consider you as well evaluated and honest feedback. We will try and correct whatever is possible within the next 03 months. Do accept poor service level at the resort and very inexperienced handling is due to lots of staff leaving the hotel industry due to instability during covid. Not only our resort entire hotel industry is faced with this issue across the world. We are slowly but surely attracting new staff and training them. It will take another 8 months to fully overcome these service issues faced due to the Covid. Thank you for your feedback. Thanking you and hope to see you again.

Dreamy beach views
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights as a treat to end our trip in Sri Lanka. It was a dream. The staff were great and the facilities were lovely. We paid extra to have a sea view which was amazing, but you spend most of your time by the pool or in the sea! We got tuk tuks to the local restaurants at night, and did an afternoon/evening trip to Galle. Breakfast buffet was great too. Lovely hotel, would definitely recommend!

The Staff & Manager was Friendly . Always have a smile and welcoming , Hotel was very Clean, right beside the beach. The Buffet was excellent, and the Service was outstanding. I will recommend for family to stay in this Beautiful view hotel. If i get the chance i will stay for 2 more days.

Had a great time 😀
Had a great time at the hotel. The staff was excellent and the food was also good. We stayed during the New Year time & Kids really enjoyed the new year games as well as us. It was nice of the hotel to organize the Kiribath table with traditional sweetmeats during the auspicious time. Nice & calm beach right in front of the hotel. Will definitely stay at Insight again. Great service by Dilani (FOM) and her team.

Great resort right on the beach with clear blue water and waves for surfing just a stone throw away from your room. Enjoy nice fresh juices by the pool served by friendly staff. We enjoyed our delux room with king bed and sea view (#505). Tuktuks take your around to get your surf boards and evening pizza/tacos. Highly recommended for any travelers for a one -two day stopover on their way down to Mirissa.

Very good resort, the location is very good, right on the beach which is almost like a private beach. The staff requires some training as many of them were trainees. The person answering the phone to take orders for room service should be good in communication. The pool and spa are very good. The staff overall is friendly and courteous.

the overall feeling of the hotel was ok. The location is nice with the beach in front. The rooms are spacious and clean, we had a sea view room, which was nice. The service though was not to great satisfaction in parts. We were not very happy with the service for the reception. They had difficulties to communicate in English. They never called back upon a request for a massage. However, the staff at the pool was very nice. Whereas breakfast was good, I would not recommend half board service, as dinner meals were rather dull. We still decided to extend our stay for another two nights, as we really liked the beach, outdoor area, and our room.

Disappointing Run Down 21/2 Star Hotel
Definitely not 3.5 star! Very disappointing. Small holes in bed sheets and frayed towels. Paint pealing off the walls in our room. No buffet breakfast for the first 2 days we were there. The second last night a group of young Sri Lankan's on a work trip came and stayed. The party went on for hours. Running in the hallways, continuous noise, yelling, slamming doors and loud music. By 3 am we were getting pretty annoyed. The staff must have know it was going on because the main dining room is an atrium and is connected to the hallways. There was no way they couldn't have heard. At 3 we called and complained. It did quieten down a bit after that, with only intermittent loud noises. But then it started up again at 6am. So we had breakfast, complained to the manger, who's only excuse was "they are young", and then we went back to bed. We then complained to the management again they were dismissive. We were only there for 5 days and we lost a whole day. They then gave us an ~ AU$6 discount on our stay! The cost of 1 drink, or less than 10% of a nights accommodation. Generally a lousy experience. I would not recommend it to anyone. There were a lot of other nice places we saw on the days we did go out. Please look somewhere else! Don't stay here.

Yes sir/madam, we had a group of 30 pax on that night, and they went out for dinner and returned to the hotel around 9.30p.m. Part of the group straight away went to sleep and a few others wanted to remain in the restaurant and enjoy their drinks. Hotel management has said they could be there until 10.30, until the restaurant close, and thereafter it is not possible to remain at the restaurant as it can be a disturbance to the other hotel guests. Then they had requested to play their own music, as it was away from the main building. Buy going with the policy, the duty manager has refused and has not allowed. In the inquiry, it reveals as per the security notes these people have gone to their rooms at around 11.00 p.m., perhaps a few would have been drinking in their rooms, which was not noticeable to us. After the call from the complainant around 3.30 a.m. about the noises on that floor, the night receptionist has gone to the floor and checked. By then there was no noise, perhaps they may have suspected someone from the management coming up to talk, so they were quiet. Thereafter the night receptionist tapped on the door of the main organizer’s room and complaint saying that they have to be quite in the rooms, and he was firm. As you requested the linen replacement has been done and over as this was in the process already. As the occupancy was below ten rooms, May is the lowest booking period. The guests were served an extremely good quality breakfast to the table with assorted bread, preserves and butter, fresh juice, cut fresh fruit platter, platter of cheese with fresh cut tomatoes, choice of eggs, bacon and sausage, hash brown with a cup of baked beans and tea and coffee. For the 4th May 2018 the breakfast was, besides the above, green salads, yogurt, corn flakes with cold milk and pancakes, I an action station with tea and coffee was served.

Closed for refurbishment
The hotel was closed for refurbishment when we arrived. Just by very hard work did we manage to find alternative accomodation because ALL good hotels where full. Not even hotels.com let us know this AND we never got a reply on our request. A very bad xmas experience for our family, how hotels.com can accept bookings when the hotel is closed!!

For dyrt i forhold til hva du får
Jeg booket 2 netter fordi jeg ønsket et bra hotell å bo på i julen. Hotellet er dyrt, så jeg ble skikkelig skuffet da jeg ankom og de ba meg betale ekstra 50USD «because its christmas» for tjenester jeg hverken trenger eller ønsker. I tillegg var det ekstra kostnader for frokost. At hotellet arrangerer underholdning og julemiddag, bør det være slik at de som benytter seg at det betaler for det. Oh det stod ikke noe om denne ekstra kostnaden på nettsiden og jeg fikk ikke avbrutt oppholdet. Dessuten lå rommet mitt tett på restauranten, så det var mye bråk fra restauranten til rommet. Og musikken de spilte i restauranten var så høy at jeg hørte den inn på rommet. Positivt: jeg benyttet meg av laundry og det var bra. Raskt og rent. Veldig bra. Hotellet bar preg at det er gammelt og slitt. Bra med vann i dusjen. Positivt. Så synes hotellet er for dyrt i forhold til hva du får.

Fantastisk opphold

Perfect place for relax
Sensational hotel. Fantastic location, sea view. Beautiful pool located in the shade of palm trees allowing you to relax. Good drinks. However, the greatest value of the hotel are its employees. Each one helps to spend time in the best way possible. From preparing beautiful, hearty breakfasts to suggesting places to go. Our car driver had to cancel a few hours before we got to the airport and the hotel arranged a replacement for us within minutes at a very reasonable price. I have traveled to many places in the world, but those few days at the Insight Hotel were one of the best experiences of my life.

Une perle rare
Tres bel hotel, pres de la mer, avec une magnifique piscine, de grande chambres avec balcon. Le déjeuner est varié et delicieux. Le personnel est tres gentils, c'était l'anniversaire de mon conjoint et ils on mis des fleurs et petales de fleurs dans la chambre et sont venus nous porter un gâteau avec bougie sans que je le demande une belle attention apprécié ! On est en plein centre de la ville avec de bons restaurants tout pres! Vraiment exceptionnelle comme hotel et pour le prix! Seul hic! l'air conditionné qui n'est pas assez froid et pousse peu, mais la nuit c'était ok c'est en fin de pm que c'est plus difficile! Je recommande cet hotel c'est certain !

Super Hotel qui se dégrade. Dommage ! Les chambres sentent la moisissure. Il y a un accès direct sur la plage via la chambre qui n'est pas possible car pas de clé pour fermer cette accès. J'ai réservé pour 3 (2 adultes et 1 enfant de 14 ans) et une fois sur place j'ai du payer un supplément pour un lit pour mon fils. Malgré la confirmation pour 3 seulement 1 lit pour 2. Le buffet est moyen.

Väldigt bra läge och super mysigt
Ligger precis i mitten av Galle fort. Perfekt för att stanna en natt eller två. Rent, fräscht, sköna sängar och frukost. Gångavstånd till allt, som affärer, restauranger och sevärdheter. Mycket hjälpsam och trevlig personal. Rekommenderar starkt kommer garanterat bo här igen om vi kommer tillbaka.

Schlecht geführtes Hotel, das grundsätzlich ganz
Nach einem langen Check-in-Prozess mussten wir gleich am Anfang umziehen, da uns eine zu geringe Zimmerkategorie zugewiesen wurde. Ansonsten sind die Zimmer geräumig, allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Hygienisch sehr abstoßend sind die teilweise heftig aufgerissenen Schaumstoffliegematten auf den Liegestühlen des sonst gepflegten Gartens. Man hat den Eindruck, als würden sich die Matten bereits selbst bewegen. Ausserdem ist der oft schon ältere "Vogeldreck" am Balkon zu bemängeln. Überhaupt lässt die Hygiene zu wünschen übrig. Teilweise kleben die Tische, da nicht sauber abgewischt wurde. Das Frühstück ist i. O.. Störend ist auch, dass man sich mehrmals täglich für das Wi-Fi anmelden muss. Das Personal ist angefangen von der Rezeption und dem Koch bis zur Bedienung und dem Reinigungspersonal für die Zimmer sehr aufmerksam und freundlich.  Fazit: wir hatten einen längeren Aufenthalt geplant, ziehen aber in einen anderen Ort in ein anderes Hotel, indem wir die letzten 10 Tage verbringen werden

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you very much for the comments and for visiting the resort Sir/Madam. We are sorry we understand the concern about the bird dropping. This menace was sadly hit by the pigeons in the middle of the season. What we are currently doing is cleaning them as much as possible. Without being a nuisance to the guests. However, we have planned a permanent solution but we have to wait for the peak period to be over to start that as there would be some constructional alterations. We are starting this by the 1st of April 2019. Once that is done the pigeons will move away. Sorry we know the issue but we are unable to do anything until the season slows down. Also, about the sun beds sorry about that. We have replaced 50% of them before the season started. The rest we were in the process of doing up one by one and there is a balance of 6 more to be done only. It will be done and over by the end of the week. You have booked two deluxe rooms originally and we have given you Room number 701 and 702, as these rooms are together. But then you have requested for a change for a different room saying in room 701 you did not have a good sea view. Therefore, our team has given you rooms number 803. Regret, you mislead saying that we gave lower category rooms, that’s not fair Sir. Thank you once again Sir/Madam. The Management.

I would go back any time!
We had a perfect stay at Insight Ahnamgama. The personell was fantastic, rooms and facilities excellent. The pool area beautiful and relaxing. The Hotel is somewhat alone on the beach which gives a secluded feeling. I would highly recommend the hotel.

to many misunderstandings
To many things not as agreed or changed, The upgrade I asked for should cost 11$ than they said it was a mistake and they wanted to charge 25$, than they offered 22$ finally the charged 15$ Ordered a papaya juice. Since did not like the taste wanted to have a little bit vanilla icecream and they brought and charged me 6000 Rup for the Ice. Price for Papaya juice 5000 so total 11.000 Rup. When we were going last morning to our surfclass early morning they were running behind us asking wether we would not pay our bill. Responce from me yes at 11:00 when we check out as anounced.

Thanks for your review and we are sorry about the delayed comeback. Our standard upgrade cost during 2017 was $9 from Budget non sea view to Standard partial sea view. $10 from Standard partial sea view to Superior & $12 from Superior to Deluxe sea view with balcony. I am not sure how the reception made this mistake. Its our fault. Had we got back to you at the time we should have screened it better and managed it well. Sorry! We don't charge Rs 6000 for Ice Cream nor we do charge Rs 5000 for Papaya juice. Totalling to Rs 11000. This is ridiculous. I am sure you would have looked at the menu for pricing prior ordering. We are not challenging you these amounts are highly unrealistic. Now its far too late to look into it. We accept the blame for the delay. Further, our MD was not pleased with the Residential Manager and he was changed in the last year July and since then by enlarge operation is going smoothly with very good comments.

Très bien
Hôtel donnant sur une très belle plage avec une très grande piscine. Personnel très accueillant, très souriant et très serviable. Belle infrastructure aux chambres confortables et propres. Hôtel tout de même un peu isolé (pas de restaurants à proximité). A recommander +++

Camera in costruzione condizioni igieniche pessime
Le nostre 3 camere erano tutte in costruzione. Alle 14, ora del check in: non c'erano letti, non c'era intonaco sui muri, erano piene di polvere, detriti di costruzione. insomma, un cantiere. abbiamo dovuto trovarci una sistemazione alternativa per la notte e poi volevano farci tornare lì il giorno seguente. la loro proposta, a pari spesa, era di andare in una pessima guest house. Dopo forti tensioni siamo riusciti a farci assegnare delle camere degne di quel nome. le condizioni igieniche sono comunque pessime e i pasti vengono serviti in mezzo alle mosche. l'unico punto a favore è la posizione fronte mare. guardate i commenti su tripadvisor per vedere anche le foto che pubblicherò. imbarazzante.
