"We visited Balito with a family of 7 and had the most wonderful stay. The hotel is small but updated and it is run by a wonderful family who makes you feel at home. However standard of cleaning is really quite poor; it’s just a bit grubby in places - bed does feel clean and think that’s the most important part for me. While you are about 20 mins outside of Chania it served as a good base for all of the western beaches and attractions while still close enough to Chania for dinners and exploring.
