The Hilton in Addis Ababa is one of the oldest hotels in Addis so some of the fixtures are dated but the staff were extremely kind (airport shuttle driver, clerk at check in, front of the restaurant staff (for breakfast)) - all just extremely nice. My check in process was smooth and the view was great. Finally, there was live music on the Sunday night which was really nice.

The staff was incredible! They were super nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. The bedding, towels, and hotel location were also excellent. There are many amenities, but they were a bit dated and could be cleaner. Would highly recommend avoiding the food at the hotel.

I am very grateful for being able to check in early and (almost) all staff I met were extraordinarily nice, kind and helpful. The room was clean but in desperate need of an update (I even believe I was upgraded to a nicer room, but nevertheless the room was in need of a proper update. The bath was stained, the bathtub drain was not working and there was no hot water on my departure morning. The head board at my bed was worn and very unattractive. The pool was closed for the duration of my stay, I did not get this information before my arrival which was a huge disappointment to find that the pool and most of the garden were out of bounds…

Terrible place. Not worth the money

The place may have the Hilton name on it, but it is nothing compared to Hilton's. They should change the name to Motel 6. It was so old and nothing up to par or repaired. The air conditioner did not work. The furniture was original form the 1960's when it was built. Please stay some where else. There are so many nice places in Addis. The one good thing was the pool and fitness room. However, that was even to crowded because it is not only for guests all community people come to use the fitness center and the pool. The locker rooms were full of fungus and I didn't even dare walk around. The smell was terrible. I can't believe that Hilton allows the name to stay on the building.

It seems that the room hasn’t been remodeled since built in the 1970s. The reason why shower, sink and toilet were not working properly. Requested toiletries were not delivered, even when requested for the second time.

Arrived to find the room that we had reserved wasn't ready or had been given to someone else it wasn't clear. We were told our new room would have a view of the pool - it did not we looked onto a building site. Then our door wouldn't open and it took 90 minutes to fix. We were given a bowl of fruit and a bottle of Ethiopian wine as an apology.

Flooded bathroom, but new room

We enjoyed our one-night stay at Hilton. However, when we came back from dinner, the hot water had surprisingly been running by full force and the bathroom totally flooded. Luckily we came in time before the whole room was full of water. A mechanic fixed the sink, but it took time before someone came to removethe water. However, after a couple of hours they provided us with a new room and late check out as compensation. That was great! The breakfast was very good, as the bowls in the restaurant.

Always an excellent stay at this hotel. Staff are always so helpful and efficient, rooms are clean and nice and always vegan options on all menus.

Enkel de lobby/bar hebben een upgrade gehad. Kamer was zeer verouderd met een balkondeur die niet goed sloot en een badkamer waar overal vlekken zaten, zeer verouderd bad/douche. Mijn inziens een overpriced hotel dat de kwaliteit niet levert. Personeel was grotendeels vriendelijk. Echter meermaals gehad dat er na schoonmaken geen handdoekken aanwezig waren. De 24/7 roomservice neemt na 24:00 niet op. Zwembad was groot en schoon. Fijne handdoekenserive. Overall zou ik het niet aanraden.

I reported getting ill after eating at the restaurant and the Front Desk almost made fun of it. I felt very offended by their poor attitude.

Food options are severely limited and executed poorly. From room service to the pool restaurant, or the buffet, the food quality is low and the hygiene very questionable.

Hygiene levels at the restaurants are poor. I got severally ill after eating at their buffet restaurant. I reported it to management but they totally ignored me.
