"The P&P provision bar and Livingston Bar and restaurant was excellent! There was affordable and m delicious dishes. I really enjoyed the gumbo and berry mock tail from P & P late at night. And the next day I had a wonderful view of the fox theatre and a grand breakfast with the most amazing waiter named Earl at Livingston Bar and Restaurant. The front desk staff was especially helpful with getting taxis for me for my excursions in the city, my trip would have been a look harder without Thembela...

"This hotel is one my family and I would usually book, however it has absolutely gone down hill fast. There is absolutely NO dining area on premises, zero ice machines, rust and mold in the rooms, and no coffee makers in any rooms. We had to go off property just to even get a meal or snack. Oh and housekeeping is done ONLY after you check out. So needless to say, we WON'T be staying here again."

"I stayed here twice, And it’s a good solid choice for a hotel in downtown area, rooms aren’t too crazy expensive. A lot of stuff is walkable if not a short Uber ride. This will probably be my main hotel if I need to stay in downtown Houston"

"Old building and the doors are due for an upgrade. You have to basically put all your weight in to open the door. "

"We only stayed overnight but we were happy with our stay. I tried to call ahead to communicate that we’d be doing a late check-in and there was no answer but once we arrived that evening we still had our room reserved. It’s located in a quiet area and the room was equipped with a full sized fridge, microwave, stove and some dishes. Would definitely recommend this place if you plan on staying for multiple nights. "

"We stayed on 5/19-5/21/24. The check-in was perfect. Lots of help, informative and kind staff. The room was clean with extra towels. A little musty due to the humidity but not the fault of hotel. Once the air was on it was fine. The pools were well maintained and the beach was right out front. Didn’t use restaurant. Parking wasn’t far. Had security at night idk about daytime wasn’t a problem. I would stay again. I like the family feel of Surfside. You’re going to have to drive either way to get...

"Great stay, just wish the elevator was faster. It took 5-6 minutes to get on after pushing the button and each absolutely no one was waiting to go up/down and it’s only the floors. Some of my party waited at the elevator on the 2nd floor and talked to the people down on the ground to see if anyone was on it. No one was on it, it’s just real real slow. Do take the stairs instead 😕"

"Parking isn’t included, paid 33 dollar for 12 hour parking next to hotel. Which was unfortunate but not the hotels fault. Breakfast was really good, workers friendly. Rooms clean just smaller than expected. But great walking distance from the Alamo which is the main reason we traveled to San Antonio. "
