"Fraoch House is a sweet place. It's older and has charm. Matthew the host was solicitous and eager to please. We had breakfast one morning and it was excellent. Our room was adequate. Lack of a plug convenient to one side of the.bed and.odd chairs that tipped over when we sat in them were drawbacks. The location was a disappointment. "Our family of 3 stayed at the Sherwood Inn for 2 nights. It was perfect! Breakfast was delicious. It was our 3 year olds favorite meal of the day both days in Edinburgh. The room was very comfortable for the 3 of us with very high ceilings and a nice en suite. I hope we find ourselves with more time in Edinburgh again sometime and we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you, Vivienne! "

"The staff are very friendly. The rooms are airy and large. The shower is a bit of a mission to get into. The paint on the cupboard and side table is chipped and needs to be touched up. Windows open to allow fresh air as the room gets stuffy when the heaters are on. Breakfast is served quickly and the breakfast room is nicely laid out. Location is great to walk around Edinburgh."

"Beautiful building with clean and comfortable rooms. It was amazing value for money considering the continental breakfast was included. Lots of great options and delivered to your room at your time of choice. Host was friendly when I met him briefly in the morning. There were nice and accommodating I highly recommend it.. Also, they allowed us to leave out luggages for awhile after our check out time to enjoy the rest of the day. "
