"The Carmel Beach Hotel is the very nicely refurbished/updated Colonial Terrace Hotel. We have stayed in the old property and now the new one. We really enjoyed our stay, the place has been very nicely updated. Outstanding location 1 block from the beautiful Carmel beach. "Nicely rennovated. The beds look great but are not that comfortable . . . hard lumpy mattresses. There is only one desk chair so nowhere for two people to sit. Served a nothing breakfast in limited space for this size hotel when it has lots of guests. Our room outdoor space was on the busy street with traffic noise. Convenient location next to shopping mall, Dennis Menance Park, historic downtown Monterey and close to Cannery Row."

"Lovely oceanside hotel in a quiet and convenient location just 5 mins from Cannery Row and Downtown (on foot). Great array of coffee shops and restaurants nearby and parking on site (extra). Staff at the hotel are lovely. Polite and well informed, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. A continental breakfast is served in your room."

"Lovely property. Superb hot tub. Excellent welcome from Elizabeth at reception. Amazing Barman at adjacent Brophys Tavern. Room very nice, but strangely lacking in places to hang anything. Nowhere to hang bathrobes or wet bathing suits. Towels are at opposite end of bathroom, meaning a slippery walk across wet tile to get a towel. No room around basin for toiletries. "
