"One of my favorite hotels in Boone. The bed is comfortable. That is the most important thing for me - other than price. Boone overall is highly overpriced. You can stay in downtown Manhattan for less than a room cost in Boone. I was surprised that the hotel does not provide a free continental breakfast. A packaged danish like you buy in Costco or BJs, and a bottle of water costs seven dollars. But overall, the hotel is located convenient to the university and a few blocks from the best...

"This was our first visit to Blowing Rock. The hotel had a beautiful room. King bed and plenty of space. The bed was very soft, we are firm bed sleepers, but it was an upscale bed. The towels are soft and clean. We had a small refrigerator, micro, and Keurig coffee maker. Bring your win Kcups. Ours had just four. The area is wonderful! We will be back. "

"Nice, pet friendly hotel. Things were pretty clean. Hot water with good water pressure. Comfortable bed. Make sure you leave by 11am or they will disable your key. We were loading the car and got locked out at 10:51am. Had to walk around the outside of the bldg to go ask them to re-activate the key for the last 10 minutes so we could finish loading the car. Decent indoor pool and hot tub. However, the hot tub was on the fritz and the jets barely worked. We made the best of it though. Overall...

"The Meadowbrook feels like it’s isolated but surprisingly it’s only steps from downtown! If you drive the other way you are on a central road to the rest of the area. The rooms are large, fresh and lovingly renovated (bathrooms not so much but perfectly adequate). The complimentary breakfast was homemade and delicious with an excellent variety of choices - really surpassed expectations. The only negative was that our AC (Room 304) was intermittently noisy - luckily I travel with noise cancelling...

"We stayed in a double queen room at Boxwood Lodge. Upon arrival staff was friendly and helpful. First room TV wasn’t working properly, changed room for us. Room was spacious and looked like it was somewhat updated, beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Bathroom is in need of some updating. Worked fine but needs a facelift. Grounds are satisfactory. Only problem was we were on the first floor of the two story queen building. People in room above were very noisy until 1am....

Two things not so great.1) No window at least in our room. 2) paying for parking in a gravel lot down behind hotel across a street.
