Cozy and warm place to stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is great too. It takes twenty minutes to get to the railway station. Highly recommend.

Great family hotel!

The best accommodation we have stayed in. Clare and Rob were the perfect host and nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel is in a perfect location for shops and country walks and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We will absolutely be booking for our summer break next year.

Lovely stay
We were allowed to check in early , 2pm. The accommodation is very convenient for a stroll to Bowness. Clare was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast had lots of choice on the pre order and was lovely and hot when served. I left a shirt in the room and Clare even messaged me to get my address to post it onto me. Would definitely recommend.

Nice location, close to everything. Room is very cozy and clean. Breakfast is the best. And our hostess is so helpful and gave us lots of useful information about how to spend our time at Lake District. When we come back, we definitely will stay there again.

Fantastic B & B with lovely hosts
Victorian B& B, perfectly situated in a quiet part of Bowness, an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and lake Windermere. Convenient to bus service to Windermere, Ambleside, and Grasmere. Clare and Robert were superb and attentive hosts, really made you feel at home. They provided fantastic recommendations for hikes, restaurants and activities. Breakfast in the bright drawing room with a large picture window overlooking the garden was hardy, with choices from full English to vegetarian to light fare. Impeccably clean throughout. Relaxing garden, comfortable, quiet room - couldn’t have hoped for better!

Perfect stay
Incredible hosts,lovely couple, beautiful rooms,absolute quality bedding and mattress, spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout ,breakfast really good, maybe smokey bacon not for me but that's me being picky,really can't fault our stay,good location for windermere or bowness, but the walk back from bowness is up a steep hill but there's plenty of parking space near the lake

Amazing stay!
The B&B was very nice, well looked after, clean and extremely friendly. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

Great experience here. The room not very big but earm and cozy. Fantastic breakfast that kept us full until evening. Perfect hospitality with parking. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants, the pier and Beautrix Potter Attractions. Will definitely come back

Extremely friendly and helpfull owners who made us very welcome despite arriving early. We booked quite late in the year and were able to accommodate us for 3 nights. We had the last available room which was a little cramped but did not affect us at all. It was a 10 minute walk to Bowness and within easy reach of all facilities, restaurants etc. Can happily recommend.

Another fantastic stay !!
This was our second stay at Oakfold House B & B and, as per last summer, our family received a very warm welcome from the owners, Rob and Claire. On this occasion, we chose the ground floor family room and were most impressed by the decor, size, bathroom and comfort of this room. The traditional English breakfasts were fantastic as usual, piping hot and plenty to choose from. The location of Oakfold House is ideal and only a short 5 minute walk into the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere. We highly recommend this B & B, and will definitely be booking again.

Friendly, comfortable and good value for money
Very friendly reception from Clare and Robert. A very clean and comfortable stay with a great breakfast. There were clear guidelines about the Covid safe meaures being undertaken and precautions like hand sanitiser available. The single room is small but well furnished and decorated and suited my needs well for a good value room for a solo walking weekend. Location is convenient for those reliant on public transport to get around.

Oakfold House was such a great place to stay. The pictures really don’t do it justice. Great location for both walking into Windermere and to the lakeside at Bowness, and near lots of great restaurants. The hosts were lovely and welcoming, and the breakfast was amazing. It was such great value, to be honest I think they could charge slightly more and it still be good value.
