We either got burned in the shower or we froze. The water didn’t drain in the tub. There was almost no water pressure. My kids and I had to wash our hair as soon as we got home because we couldn’t get the shampoo and conditioner out in the shower. All the restaurants were closed so quick food wasn’t an option. I was traveling with kids so this was less than convenient. The snack machine was broken by the arcade and wouldn’t take payment so we were taken to the staff one to get something. Appreciated but if i am paying the extra money to stay at a resort shouldn’t be the case. The pool was nice. The kids loved it. It was too rainy for the zoo or most outside activities which was unfortunate.

Granted, I rented the least expensive, and obviously most rustic, room, it still should've been cleaned adequately. There was a dirty sock behind one, and trash behind both nightstands; and so many cobwebs, I didn't dare stick my hand back there to plug in my phone charger. There were water and toothpaste spittle spots on the shelf in the bathroom. And I had to douse the room with odor eliminator to get rid of the horrible odor. There were also cigarette butts all around the "patio." The only reason I kept the room is because the bed and towels LOOKED clean!

Room was quite dated and without many normal amenities. No kettle or fridge. There were ants in the washroom, an old (and very dusty) sock behind the bedside table.

We loved this place for the serenity of the atmosphere. This lodge is under renovation but we still enjoyed the property. I think once the remodel is done it will be great! We didn’t use all the amenities but it did have a pool and sauna along with a game room. We did enjoy our dinner on the lodge, the zoo was closed but we enjoyed the glas museum and mansion tour.

It was very busy at check in time but all went smoothly. On our way to our room we met Bruce He had something to do with the food and beverage area of the property. He was so nice to show us to our room because it was confusing! That's a pretty amazing employee!

We stopped in after going to a Nailers game. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the room was affordable and clean. It seems like they were recently updated! The outdoor balcony was incredibly nice as well!

Beautiful mountain resort
It was a great lodge that is under new renovation but did not effect the lobby and rooms that were being used so I got a lovely room with beautiful wood furniture and doors at a really reasonable price and they allow dogs for a reasonable price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t get the heat to work in my room and they sent someone immediately to fix it.

Loved the zoo! The staff at the zoo were genuinely kind and helpful. The room with the fireplace was amazing. The pool area was beautiful. The heated towel rack was a lovely surprise! The construction was annoying. There was not a microwave or freezer in the room. The jacuzzi jets in the pool area were weak.

We stayed 1/13 to 1/14 and it was horrible. We took into consideration that its being remodeled. Our room was in Bryd wing. The sink and tub were both clogged. The bed was sooo hard our backs were sooo sore in the am. Breakfast was a long wait. Once we were sitting we waited another 15 mins for a waitress to come take order which was the buffet. We have stayed here many times but this time was not good.

Beautiful place to stay! Really disappointed they didnt have a nicer bar and took the TV out so we couldnt watch the NFL playoffs except in our room...I will come back again when they get all their remodeling done.

It was hard to figure out where our room was. We drove all the way around the place, stopped twice to ask someone. For price i paid was not inpressed with room.

Expected better. Lodge was nicely decorated for holidays and pool area was enjoyable. However, rooms were not very clean. One bed had dirty sheets that clearly were not washed. Ordered food from restaurant and they said they'd call when it was ready. 50 min later I called and they said it had been sitting there but they didn't have my number. I definitely gave it to them. Beds were rickety and very loud w every movement. In the morning a dog was barking constantly. If I paid one star hotel prices it would be almost tolerable but not for the amount we spent. We had 2 nice meals at restaurants in Wheeling so I'd visit the region again but stay elsewhere.

Nice resort with a fun great hall area with live music, several restaurants on site. I didn't see a workout room. Appears it was replaced by a kids game room area.
