“Great little motel”

Great little place. We just needed a place to stay for the night, and this fit the bill for the price. Clean, quiet, comfortable and a decent continental breakfast! What more could you ask for in a quick overnight stay?

“Pleasantly surprised”

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Stratford last week and must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The first room I was given was clean and comfortable, but not as up to date as the rooms in the photos. When I went to the front desk to inquire if there was another room I could switch or upgrade to, the hotel manager, Rena, was more than accommodating and swiftly took care of my request. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and my room was lovely and comfortable. The hotel was easy to find, and conveniently located for my needs. Crown molding on the ceiling, Flat panel TV, fast wireless internet, etc. Although this is a little two story boutique-style hotel, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Continental breakfast was more than ample (cereals, juices, pastries, etc) and to my surprise, there was even a menu in the room of local restaurants which deliver food right to your room. I will certainly be staying here again, and would recommend it to anyone in need of a nice room in the area. Both thumbs up for Hotel Stratford! Thank you for a pleasant experience.

“Good Deal on busy El Camino Real”

Very clean. Asked for extra pillows and received them in 3 minutes. Reception was very nice and informative about area. Great deal for the price compared to competition in metro San Jose area. The one negative was a very small bathroom.

“Convenient location, clean & pet friendly”

The hotel is pet friendly which is great but the website did not mention any charges nor did they bring it up at check in. The poster was not easily visible on the desk. When I was checking out the receptionist mentioned that there is a $20/day pet fee if we ever came back. She did not charge me this time as she felt it was their omission. The stay was fine. Comfortable, had everything we needed. It is close to stores, pharmacy, restaurants, bank etc. The evening receptionist was very cheerful & helpful. The other staff were more distant. I did appreciate how the pet issue was dealt with.

“Lousy experience”

The clerk would not let us view the room before renting it. Against the rules. Would not change rooms for due to traffic noise and close proximity to the breakfast room. the television would not work and the clerk could not fix it. She said dish network would fix the problem. Never happened. No tv the entire stay. The carpet was filthy.Walk from the door across the room and your socks were black with dirt on the bottoms.Check out with the manager was a joke. She said we were not in a pet friendly room. Also said we hadn't paid the pet fee. I explained that Expedia had charged us for that. She said she would check that problem.

“More expensive than it's value”

It's on the expensive side considering the condition of the lodging.

“overpriced”

I felt uncomfortable to find out it's a small motel. It's overpriced. The day I stayed there because most other places were booked. I couldn't imagine their next day's price was the same as Santa Clara Hilton on Expedia.

“Bets sleeping on the street”

This a re-painted old highway motel. With check in behind a protective glass .....enough said. But when you are desperate, it bets sleeping on the street.
