Front desk staff person was great. But the windows are not insulated so the noise from the street (and it’s a busy street) disturbed my sleep. And I had the pleasure of waking up at 6:30 w the garbage trucks outside. I would not stay here again. Especially for the price. Oh and the shower curtain had so much mildew it was gross

The parking is behind building making it inconvenient to go inside. There is a lot of homeless hanging around making 2 woman uncomfortable. Ice maker is only on one floor and when I went to get ice there was probation officers looking for one of their tenants. You can only go onto floors with a card but anyone who has one can access floors.

the bathroom lighting learning curve was steep. Too many buttons. The too soon on and too soon off was a problem. The bathroom shown on the bed and was sleep disruptive.

The staff/management of the property were very warm and friendly. We had a very late check in (midnight) and were greeted warmly at the door by Tina. Parking was next door in a lot and is very secure. The reason I say very secure is because everyone time we parked after returning from somewhere someone, staff would come up to us and make sure that we were supposed to be parking there (you are given a pass on your dashboard). That may be annoying to some, but was great to us because that means they were serious about keeping the cars safe. The property is walking distance from SJSU and restaurants in the area. It was a little noisy Friday night because there is a bar across the street. Didn't bother us, but is good information if you don't like the college scene noise at night. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed the hospitality of the staff the most.

Second time staying at Hotel Clariana. Great little hotel in Downtown San Jose. Excellent continental breakfast, lots of choices. Will stay again. Helpful and friendly receptionist. Room was very comfortable as a little heater was installed in the wall.

This is a gem of a hotel in Downtown San Jose. Receptionist was very friendly and helped me when I mislaid my key and she escorted me to my room. Will definitely stay again.

A family business. All staff were very attentive to my needs. Very helpful in directing me to stores and eateries. Room was tended to everyday. Were very helpful in booking transportation. Nice continental breakfast. Hotel is older but well maintained and clean. Although I didn't drive, there was a parking lot next door. A very pleasant stay.

There are many homeless in the area. The downtown is noisy due to the bar scene and homeless. For example, there was a person blowing a whistle for several hours late at night. The staff was very acommodating and service was good but the hotel is old. The bed was not comfortable and I could feel the plastic mattress protector.

It was a horrible experience. The HVAC is so loud, the place is claustrophobic.. the staff is somewhat helpful, but the place is an overall dump. Too many homeless people around.

The staff was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating, some of the loveliest hotel staff I’ve encountered! Clean and comfortable room, good selection for breakfast. It’s downtown in a big city, so expect unhoused people and the occasional whiff of weed outside. The interior is clean, safe, and doesn’t smell though :)

Rooms looked a little tired and old and the aircon unit was so loud it couldn’t be on at night. Not the greatest area in hindsight with a lot of homeless around screaming and shouting at people. Staff were friendly and helpful and bed was comfortable and plenty of amenities in the room.

Seems family owned and loved that!
We had a good stay. The place is pretty secure you can’t get inside the hotel w/o your keycard. We had an early flight but they were very accommodating with early check in. Its pretty close everything as well. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Overall, we had a good stay. I would definitely book again if I come to San Jose again.

The place was fine. Nothing special. It was clean. Staff was friendly. The air conditioner is old and loud. When the room reached the right temperature, the AC would shut off with a thud and somehow it would trigger the bathroom light to turn on (which automatically turns on when you enter the room… maybe the thud triggered a motion sensor?). I was in the area for a conference and was busy all day so didn’t have a chance to communicate with the staff to rectify the situation. I didn't get much sleep the two nights I stayed here because of the AC and light situation.

The hotel was a little dated and the rooms were small but adequate. Wish I had known when I booked that it was paid parking. The location is in the middle of downtown and accessible to food, entertainment and much more by foot.

Clariana is the worst hotel I've stayed in. Soiled walls behind the toilet and dirty floors in the bathroom. Evening street noise is very loud and many vagrants hanging around. No dining facilities and the continental breakfast and coffee were terrible. At over US$200/night I recommend avoiding this hotel!!!

The place was clean, even if a bit older. They kept it safe by keeping one door accessible and locked at all times. The area outside was a bit dirty, noisy and at times did not feel safe to walk around.
