Room was lovely and large, overlooking the street. Central position in gorgeous Orange opposite a park and next to a shopping centre. I realise they were doing renovations but unfortunately the bathroom and toilet situation was unbearable. The combined male/female toilet had 2 open urinals - so as a female i couldve walked into a man doing his business. Luckily this didnt happen. One shared shower for all men and women in rooms without bathrooms.

Unsure how to rate this, as the hotel does not have my booking record booked through Expedia (first time in my travel), give me a bit of surprised. Unsure about which party fault of overbooked maybe, luckily i arrived upon check-in time and not in a hurry. The hotel service staff and Expedia response were quick and helpful to get me a different room. I appreciate very much their patient and service, particular the Hotel receptionist/bar staff and Expedia relocation phone customer service. Thing maybe different if i arrived at night or if i am in a hurry. I maybe hesitate to use Expedia hotel booking in the future.

If you're looking for a comfortable stay right in the heart of Orange, look no further than the Royal Hotel. Nestled conveniently close to pubs, shopping centres, and all the bustle of the city center. I recently booked a room for a Saturday night, needing accommodation for myself and a couple of friends. We opted for a room with three beds – two singles and one queen – and were pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the rates. In a city where weekend rates can sometimes be eye-watering, the Royal Hotel offered a more than reasonable price for our stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff who made our check-in process smooth and hassle-free, which immediately set a positive tone for our stay. The room itself was spotlessly clean, with a refreshing simplicity. The beds were comfortable and provided a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights of our stay was the hotel's proximity to various attractions. Being situated in the city centre meant that we were within walking distance of numerous pubs, restaurants, and shops, making it incredibly convenient to explore everything Orange has to offer. I turned up to find out your service never booked the accommodation and it was not on their list. I checked the app but could only find the calendar event, but the booking no. Would not work. The manager found us two rooms, extra cost of $100.00. The team there were amazing though. Your service could improve though.

I paid for a single room with shower but given a cheaper room without a shower. When asked why "it's the the next best option" because they over booked. No refund given. Also, tv and wifi didn’t work.

Needs improvement
There was some confusion with our booking and we were upgraded to an apartment which was very spacious but also being renovated. There wasn’t anything very functional in the kitchen except the fridge and the microwave. We were fine with it all but as we had paid for a private bathroom, we were not happy about the shared bathroom facilities. Restaurant meals were good and plentiful. The hotel is very old and a great location, but as it’s being renovated I imagine some rooms will be better than others.

Was pleasently surprised. don't usually stay in Hotels, but the Royal was lovely. they are doing renovations so will get even better. the room was more then adiquate for our stay in Orange. Very good value for money. Cheaper to book through expedia then to go direct to the hotel.

The shared shower is really bad be warned the lock does not work there’s a massive hole in the ceiling it’s a nightmare. It’s run down but it cheap that’s the trade off the halls smell stained of smoke and the beds are small. Aircon works good though and tv plus a mini fridge which is all you need. Plus centrally located

The room with an ensuite was great. The bed was a dream to be had to sleep in. The feel of their lightly starched silky feeling sheets is like they are new. Good flow of hot water. The big royal hotel breaky was massive and great. The beer could be colder perhaps ifwas great they used chilled glasses that would help. This isnt the Hilton but they are working on it and it is value for money. Be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. Ive stayed here a few times and Ill be back

Was very happy with the size of the room and the private bathroom, central location, great dining options. Hot water for shower can take a few minutes at times and parking was a little challenging also at times. Will book again next time we are in Orange.

It was great value for money and had everything i needed. My room had a shower in it. It was very clean and well set up. I had to wash the aircon filters as they were clogged. They need to have their phone system looked into as i tried calling them several times over last couple of years and the phone doesnt ring and just cancels the call
