"We were doing a day trip from Avignon and were only in Marseille for one night. we booked the unit through Expedia and did not know we were staying in an annex four blicks away from main hotel. our room was very nice and comfirtable but not conveniet to the main hotel for breakfast or coffee. The hitel said if we had booked it through their site we would have known we were in an annex."

"As in most places in the south of France, very few people have any knowledge of English. If you can't speak French, then anticipate some eyeroll and comments. It was a roll of the dice as to whether somebody knew English at the front desk. But c'est la vie, there's some outstanding sites to see in Marseille.
