"Here you get a small cheap room with not much nearby. Couldn’t find a beer at night. The small room was clean and the staff were nice. There’s no lift/elevator so if you’re on the 2nd floor or higher it’s just up and down the stairs. No phone in the room so every time you have a question for the front desk you have to go down the 2 or 3 flights of stairs. I was just there 1 night so it wasn’t much of a problem. Not sure what else is available in Lahad Datu."

"The most amazing stay. The kitchen excelled with all our food allergies and nothing was too much trouble for them. We saw wild Orangutans near the lodge. Only 4 rooms, so quiet and less mosquitoes than those places on the river. I loved my stay and highly recommend to others."

"The property is basic, but well maintained and food is pretty good mostly. Beer available to buy. No wifi - but you can get a poor connection from receptionist's phone acting as hotspot. Friendly atmosphere. 3 days, 2 nights, equals 4 boat journeys, 1 day walk and 2 night walks. First 2 boat trips were disappointing - didn't see much except same monkeys who hang around camp. 3rd saw orangutans and crocodiles. 4th saw whole herd of pygmy elephants with calves on riverbank and swimming. "I just stayed for a week conducting research and had a great stay. The owner, Ben, and staff are wonderful people and I consider them friends now. The room & bed was clean and comfortable and solid WiFI was available at the eating area (helpful for those working). The in-room AC unit helps A LOT in the humid climate. The food, particularly dinner, is tasty and a great deal for the quality you get. Unlike places in more populated areas, if you're lucky, you'll see endangered species here like...
