"This property was well past my expectations in a good way. Very peaceful and welcoming. You can walk to the shopping center and other beach front resorts with ease. Royal Kona Resort

8.2 out of 10, Very good, (2520)
"Vintage Hawaiian charm and hospitality. Some renovation work taking place in the Lagoon Tower which had no impact on our stay. I hope they don’t price out the budget travelers by going upscale. Our room was clean, comfortable. Partial ocean view was much better than expected. The view and dining experience at Don the Beachcombers was superb. Hotel staff was friendly and professional. I’ve stayed here before and return for the value and Hawaiian ambience sadly missing from some of the other...

"This was our second time staying at the Kona Castle Reef . This oceanfront unit was comfortable, tidy and an excellent layout. Some of the lighting fixtures seemed dated and Could use replacement . Having the bbq’s there as an alternative cooking option was fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again next year and hopefully secure the same unit as we did this time ."
