Only 2 restaurants within walking distance. Fortunately one of them “ Sub station “ had really good food with lots of variety. Stayed 2 nights. Ate at SS 2 nights.

The room was not cleaned. The furniture was covered woth dust. There was hair and half-empty water bottle left on the night table.
For the price, I expected a very comfortable mid-range hotel. I pulled up to a palace. I've stayed in hotels two to three times more expensive that compared. The room was well appointed and the food at the restaurant was good. It was a great stay and a great value.
I loved everything about this hotel except the showers. Whoever was the designer did not think when not installing shower doors. The concept is very faulty and makes the bathroom floor get soaked from the shower water due to nothing keeping it contained.
This is my favorite hotel on the Interstate 81 Shenandoah corridor, I have never had a bad experience. Thestaff is excellent and the staff, mostly from JMU's School of Hospitality really do a phenmoinal job.
This was a nice place to stay for a short trip for a graduation in the area! All of the staff was incredibly friendly and the cafe was great. Only complaint was the walls in the bathroom and main entrance for our room had various stains like drinks had been spilled on them.
Unfortunately the WiFi didn't work, my wife and I needed it for a few meetings that were important. It's disappointing that it wasn't resolved during the time we were there.
Upscale hotel on our daughter’s college campus. We will be back!

Property was average, but the price point does not match the quality. As soon as we exited the elevator on the 5th floor we noticed the unpleasant odor of dirt and mildew. Our room itself smelled strongly of mildew and we eventually realized it was the shower curtain in the bathroom. Both the curtain and the tub were covered in pink mildew.

We had a lovely stay. Friendly check in, restaurant food and service was fantastic. Only complaint is the mattresses are terrible. Hardest bed I’ve ever slept on.
This was an awesome property and SUPER convenient for JMU access. Staff was fantastic, and the place looked brand new. Looking forward to my next visit.
We had a wonderful stay. My children are young and it was the perfect stay for us. Very clean, great restaurant inside, amazing staff. We will be staying again.
Exactly what we were looking for after a long trip into town and a rough night in a different hotel last night. Was so happy to see such a spacious, bright room, clean, crisp sheets, and a modern, clean bathroom.
Just what we needed!
You can't beat the location of Hotel Madison for access to the JMU Quad. Other than the location, this hotel is very average. The rooms are very sparse and cold looking, and the bedding is on the thin side. No extra blanket is provided in the closet. The furnishings seem cheap. However, our room was clean. Parking was located by the hotel for a fee. Hotel Madison's lobby is definitely a place to be for JMU events like hoco, but there are one or two nicer hotel options if you are just looking for a place to sleep.
Our phone did not work, could not get room service, room key did not work for parking garage. Was given a discount after speaking with a manager at checkout. He was apologetic and nice.

no sofa in the room, a lot of dust on coffemaker. no free breakfast. bathroom door is not good, easy to off, almost hurt my kids.
The Madison Hotel was ideally situated and allowed easy access to JMU. The staff was friendly and efficient. The was clean and well Maintained. Overall, our stay was was excellent.
We stayed at the Hotel Madison to take our son on a tour of JMU. The hotel was excellent - very convenient for accessing campus and dining in town. We will return. Loved both hotel and JMU!
