Welcoming and Accommodating B&B
We're always skittish about B&Bs because it's up close and personal, and we've been stung before. In this case, we weren't happy with hotel choices, and the reviews were positive. We had a wonderful stay. The host was actually out of town, but she had a wonderful replacement - Taylor. Taylor welcomed us, and did a great job explaining where everything was and how it all worked. Much appreciated. In the morning, Taylor cooked us a wonderful breakfast. Because we were the last two to eat (we had 3 choices of times), we had a great visit with Taylor, who was engaging and interesting, but not obtrusive. Our only slight disappointment is that walking to a restaurant was a little far, given the hills. Not a big deal. Auberge Kicking Horse B&B is certainly on our keeper's list. Bonuses: Every room has its own ensuite - which recently is a must with us, and there was a fridge and freezer available to keep our food cold and refreeze our ice packs.

Peaceful setting, close enough to downtown to walk (if you don't mind a hill walk on the way back, we didn't :)) and an amazing host and delicious breakfast. I would for sure stay again.

We stopped in Golden on our way to Jasper National Park, and Marie's lovely B&B was the perfect place to be. Marie was very welcoming to her lovely home - we had a relaxing evening and an excellent breakfast the next morning. Many thanks Marie!

Sat June 15. Worst breakfast ever. Eggs in a avacodo. Uneatable. The owners staff was in charge while the owner was out of town. The avacado was hard as a rock and the egg very overcooked. The towels are old and tired. House is not as clean as what we are used to. I opened the microwave to nuke my coffee and it was very dirty.as was the hottub We had stayed the previous week and the breakfast was delightful when the owner was there. She was very friendly and hospitableThis is a lovely location. Very comfortable accommodation but can not recommend for the above reasons.

As our visitors read your review, they will certainly realize the anomaly with the rest of the reviews and realize that this is from a guest ranting without a constructive purpose. I understand your disappointment with breakfast. Taylor struggled that morning and made an obvious mistake. She did offer to make another plate of eggs for you, as it is all someone can do to recover the situation, and you DECLINED the kind offer. She was genuinely trying to satisfy you. As far as your other comments, it seems you are looking to justify your negative breakfast experience by digging for whatever bugs you want to complain about. Regarding the hot tub, you admitted to me you are not a hot tub user. I used the hot tub myself that day and was perfectly clean. You never even used the hot tub. How can you comment? The microwave, as all the kitchen appliances are out of use for the guests and maintained for the use of the owner only. Have you poked your head in the fridge and oven too? The towels comment is sure unjustified as they were the same as the previous stay and you sure loved your the place so much you decided to book again. Most of your rant is unjustified.

We enjoyed the whole experience. Met a young German couple and learned about extreme skiing. The difficulties in becoming a mountain touring guide . Professionally speaking it’s a very tough job.

Our first B&B experience. It was very pleasant overall. The only disappointment was the size of the bedroom - it was very small which made it difficult to find a place to have our luggage.

Yes I agree. The rooms are small. but each offers a private bathroom is valuable There are many other areas in the B&B to enjoy and relax in privacy. The rooms are only meant to sleep in.

A room in a house with private bathroom. Access to Hot tub, very nice backyard, netted gazebo, large shared living room/Kitchen, full size fridge/freezer, parking in driveway. Even a great hot breakfast.

What a wonderful place to stay! Marie-France is a warm, friendly, welcoming host. There is a living room, backyard, gazebo and hot tub, all available to guests. The kitchen was open to me when I needed to make a late night snack. The room was lovely and very comfortable, with its own private bathroom. It felt like home.

Excellent B&B
Marie-France is the hostess of this excellent B&B. It is small - three guest rooms - so it feels like a home away from home. The rooms are standard bedroom size, but the rest of the house is house is quite commodious so there is no sense of being crowded or confined. Check-ins are handled very efficiently whether or not she is home at the time. Breakfast was creative and delicious - everything home made. A great place to stay over night or for a few days.

A very cozy B&B. Clean and comfortable with good amenities. Room was spacious for B&B. The breakfast was good except for the coffee, which was too light. The receptionist and the owner were all very friendly.

Our host is very inviting, friendly, and helpful. She was happy to offer suggestions as to activities and restaurants in and around Golden. The rooms are small, but comfortable and clean. The breakfasts are outstanding. All fresh and home-made, nutritious and delicious.

Owner is enthusiastic and helpful in details from dining to hiking. Room was comfortable, clean and inviting. Breakfast was yummy and will last you all day. Golden is a great location from which to access great hiking.

Marie France was a warm and friendly host for whom nothing was too much trouble. Readily recommended restaurants and made a booking on our behalf. Excellent local knowledge of hikes and local activities.

Horrible experience because of expedia error
Me and my 5 yr old son we taveling from Calgary to Kelowna , which a friend of 30 yrs had passed away , and had to stay the night in Golden due to a head on collisions. After waiting in a car line for 2 hrs and driving for 3 hrs . We decided to get a late dinner and I reserved the room from my phone while we where eating . After dinner we went to the room and were turned away from the B and B . Due to the accident and no one being able to get passed until the next day all the hotels were booked in Golden . This was very inconvenient traveling with a 5 yr old and I was unable to find a room till 1 am Sunday morning in Lake louise which was a hr away . This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had to hear my child say where are we going to stay dad , when your site had made me feel secure in where my child and I where sleeping . Is Expedia able to do anything for me to make this experience better ?

Friendly warm and helpful welcome, Nice house just 10 minutes frtom town with plenty of restaurants and places to eat for all choices,close to glacier and mount revelstoke parks for day trip. Clean and good size room,comfortable and good bed,shower and well presented. Lovely breakfast of fresh fruit,cereal and hot dish also pastries if you have room.Very helpful to have use of lounge,deck and lovely hot tub whenever you want,lovely stay thanks for making it enjoyable visit

Wonderful B&B in Golden, BC
We arrived about an hour before normal check-in time, but were still warmly welcomed by the owner. She was helpful with explaining the facility and services as well as recommendations for several restaurants. She suggested that if we hurried we could still make the last gondola ride at the Kicking Horse, which we did.

Great breakfast, lovely host.
Just out from the town centre but close enough to walk into town. The Auberge Kicking Horse B&B sits in a pleasant residential setting and is easy enough to find with ample parking once there. Marie-France Lessor is the host and a nicer person you could not wish to meet. Offering good advice on where to eat or where to go and providing the best breakfast that we have had during our time in Canada. Sorry about the key, it's in the post. D

Something of a disappointment
We had some difficulty in finding this B & B and arrived tired and a little late. Our host opened the door to let us in and immediately requested we remove our shoes - despite the fact we had to go outside again to the car to retrieve our luggage. No slippers of any kind were provided. The bedroom was somewhat small and poky and we had some difficulty in not falling over our suitcases. There was only one bedside light for the twin-bedded room, so no chance of both of us reading in bed. Breakfast which had been talked up was disappointing. I make far better muesli than the one provided, the breakfast scones were boring and the baked eggs looked unappetising (We did not taste them). I feel that if one advertises a 'country breakfast' that perhaps some bacon or ham should be included, I do not recall any mention that no meat would be served. The fruit salad was very nice, but the yoghurt which, given the hype, might have been home-made was a single serve fruit variety.

Very nice place to stay
I was lucky to stay this B&B. It was a beautiful home and incredible breakfast which are healthy and yummy were served every morning by great host, Marie.(home-made :-) ) She introduced some restaurants which were nice. I would recommend if you need to stay in Golden.

Great B&B in Golden
Booked two nights at Auberge Kicking Horse, liked it so much we booked a third. Room was good size and comfortable, breakfast was fantastic with homemade scones and muffins and other delights. Host Marie-France was extremely friendly and had some great tips for hiking, activities and restaurants in the area. Overall, a great place to stay in Golden and for access to Yoho and Glacier.

Our stay was very comfortable. We enjoyed our host Marie and our fellow travellers. Marie was very well informed about the Golden area and most helpful in planning our evening out.

Nice stopover spot in the mountains.
We stayed overnight on our way to Alberta. The hostess was very friendly and the breakfast was very good. A car is necessary, as the location is not near downtown. We got a good dinner recommendation from our hostess. The bedroom is very small, but does have its own bathroom.

Utterly charming and elegant
I have stayed at many B&Bs and this one comes in TOP NOTCH . The entire first floor is dedicated to travelers, including huge, clean hot tub on deck, which is surrounded by mountain views. Your hostess is utterly charming, well prepared for seasoned travelers, with a homemade breakfast that included many, many choices. Everything a delight!

Great accommodations, great host.
Had a very enjoyable stay at Auberge while visiting Kicking Horse. The B&B accommodations are top notch, breakfast is great, and the host is as nice as they come. Definitely recommend Auberge to anyone visiting Golden/Kicking Horse. Can't wait to return!
