"We stayed 3 nights in mid April. First, do not let the rainy season deter you. The rains did come in the late afternoons and the trekking was a little muddy, but I think it is likely the best time to gorilla trek and/or look for the golden monkeys. "Loved the gardens, the trees & flowers, birds and animals. Staff was friendly. A nice natural sanctuary, surprising to find in Lubumbashi. A bit out of the way. Mostly quietly except Sunday afternoon and late into the night there was loud music from nearby events or nightclubs. But will stay there again. "

"The Serena Hotel in Lake Kivu was lovely. We had a great room with a lake view. Since we traveled with a guide we did not use any of the extra guest services but we did take a boat ride out to the Nyamyumbo hot springs which was quite an experience. The opposite of a hotel spa! Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel!"

"An ok value but with a lot more hotels opening in Kin will have to up its game for this price range. All around great service especially Hyppolite at the restaurant. Lovely inner courtyard solid breakfast options and nice menu with very good indian food. Gym was a mess though, dirty with broken equipment. Huge room with good amenities. A good choice if you need to be centrally located."
