"The Octant is a great hotel. Location is perfect. The staff is absolutely amazing and very helpful. They certainly go over and beyond to make your stay perfect. The hotel is clean, up to date and the breakfast is soooo delicious!! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone that goes to Sao Miguel. This is one of the nicest hotels that we have ever stayed in. Our room was comfortable, clean and amazing. We can’t wait to go back again! AND….its DOG friendly (so cool)!!! "

"Architecturally very similar to a classic Canadian Motel, but upscaled by several degrees of magnitude. Really excellent breakfast options including local food which you will rapidly come to love. Very quiet as many of the ceilings and walls are covered in sound dampening cork. If you are driving (which I recommend outside of the city) this is a perfect home base for exploring the island.
