Front desk staff esp Ladie helped us navigate Portuguese SIM card option’s beyond the call of duty. She was adorable Breakfast needed better coffee and real orange juice but it was ok

The hotel was renovated, and there was a very pretty tile. It was in very good shape. Although the room is a little small, it was fine for my husband and myself we would stay there again if we ever are in Coimbra.

We booked a 3 person room and was given a 2 max room. They have no 3 person rooms. They offered us a second room but i did not like splitting up the family. Hotels.com should know if a hotel can accommodate 3 people in a room before confirming the reservation.

Really nice hotel in a great location. Staff was very kind and helpful, I think her name was Elizabeth. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were well kept.

I really enjoyed the pool and sauna area. The room was very clean and nice to be able to watch TV and relax in the bar area with comfy couches. The check-in process took too much time as the hotel seemed to be short-staffed all the time.

Lovely evening receptionist- friendly, patient and very helpful with recommendations. Hotel is very stylish, very well located- right across from Aqueduct and next to Praca Republica, close to University. Loved the personalized rooms, with names honoring Portuguese queens. Boutique hotel. Would love to repeat!

The hotel is close to the old university. The aqueduct is near by. Rita, at the front desk, was very nice and helpful. Her suggestions for restaurants and places to listen Fado music were excellent. The room was great; breakfast ok. If I have to be picky, I can say I didn’t like the pillows.

Location was good although it is up at the top of the city by the University so one needs a good set of legs to walk back up after dining downtown. Spa pool, sauna, steam room and gym were great.

Great Hotel
Beautiful hotel, located near university,. Newly remodeled and it look really nice. Staff very helpful, my husband used the pool and spa and was pleased with the facilities.

Disappointing.
It was alright. Didn't like the room layout. The way the toilet and shower are next to the bed is weird, and feels like a second rate hotel. Gym is run down and for looks. The internet wasn't working. Dunno, the whole thing was disappointing. Location was alright, and breakfast was okay.

Very nice hotel, very close to the town and attractions. Nicely appointed hotel with nice linens and products. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. We would stay here again. Coimbra is a charming town and we really enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed the hotel overall. The service was very good, particularly in the breakfast area, and in the bar area. The bathroom situation was a bit weird, however. There was no bathroom door, and whoever was sitting on the bed had a direct view of your rear end when you were standing at the sink. It was very strange.

Lively university location, wonderful hotel
This hotel is beautiful. The room furnishings felt luxurious, and the shower was excellent. The location was ideal : a block from the university, so the nightlife was hopping — plenty of places to go for food & drink, at very good prices. Be forewarned though: You may hear students singing school songs and carousing at very late hours, so if you’re a light sleeper use your Bose noise-canceling headphones! The staff were very helpful, always available for help or suggestions. Next time I visit Coímbra I will certainly stay here.

Well placed, well appointed hotel
We stayed for two nights in a twin room. The room was comfortable, very clean. Bath robes were available for the walk down to the swimming pool. Towels for the pool were available at no charge from reception. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially the receptionist. Breakfast was lovely, generous, delicious. They happily gave us napkins to make rolls to take away for lunch. Parking was available right outside the hotel, in the street, and was free. There is also an underground car park, with a very steep access back up to the road. We did not need to use it.

Nice hotel with really friendly staff
The hotel facilities themselves are nice - the rooms are clean, comfortable and very nicely furnished. My biggest complements, though, are for the staff. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful in finding activities and giving directions. Miguel also made us cocktails in the evening that were unique and very tasty. The hotel isn't in the older part of town, but close by to the University. The walk is short, but the hills in Coimbra are steep!

Excellent breakfast with made to order eggs. Friendly helpful staff. Contact hotel directly to reserve a parking spot if driving otherwise you may not find a spot on busy street. Bathroom doors are frosted glass. I felt this afforded enough privacy. Very close to the university.

Hotel staff were nice and did everything they good. The location of the property was close to everything we wanted to see. The room was clean but it was very noisy. You could hear every step through the walls and ceiling. Breakfast was okay but it was not a buffet. We got too much of the food we didn’t want and not enough of what we wanted to eat.

Luis at the front desk is wonderful. There was a plumbing issue in our room and they quickly upgraded us to a suite. Breakfast was impressive and he recommended a great fado show! Location convenient to many things. Highly recommend this hotel!

Fabulous Service and Location
The Hotel Ibn-Arrik is located in a great spot in Coimbra. We were able to visit all the tourist sights easily. Our room, number 21, was located in the back of the hotel which was away from the main street so it was very quiet. The hotel staff went out of their way to make room for us in the lobby to view the university graduation parade which went right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and served to us by the staff.

The hotel and staff were terrific. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only challenge was there were only two outlets for charging phones, etc. Theyvare still working on a snack menu for the bar so there is no bar food at all but otherwise all was great.
