Amazing place to stay. We had a big family wedding nearby - great breakfast and dinner. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Very pleasant Hotel in a lovely setting. The breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable and spacious. Would defnitely stay at the Calf Head's Hotel again.

The hotel is in a great location and the food and breakfast is very nice. The room we stayed in on this ocasion (room 9) is tiny, more of a single room rather than a double.The mattress is well over due replacement, split with the springs bulging. The bathroom obviously has a drainage issue with the smell. Must say on previous visits in different rooms we have had no issues and we would go back, just not to room 9.

Excellent accommodation, fantastic food and lots of it. Staff attentive and engaging. Beautiful location with views of Pendle hill, peaceful as not close to main roads.

Overnight stay. The bed was comfortable but the room was rather gloomy and definitely in need of renovation. One of the bedside lights did not work (even when I tried moving the lightbulb from the other side). The location of the hotel is lovely, though.

Absolutely brilliant staff. Very much going out of their way to make the stay as perfect as possible, which in my case, was. Location was perfect for working in Clitheroe and Blackburn. Hidden away in a small village away from chain hotels etc. Homely feel to the place. Strong WiFi for work purposes. Food was also excellent.

A very friendly place and obviously popular with the locals. Food pretty good - large portions and huge desserts! - although not fancy, vegetables not always great. Our room was over the kitchen and a bit hot but quiet.

The hotel is in a lovely location with ample parking. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are tired now and in need of updating. Our room (1) has old single glazed windows which were draughty. No electrical sockets near the bed. The spa bath was a nice surprise. The shower was hot and really powerful. The bathroom had no fan, which seemed strange. The secondary glazing would not stay open to vent the room. The large bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really good, but not a huge choice available. The evening meals were great with good, even large, portions.

Liked it so much i stayed an extra day
Found this gem and rather than stay somewhere else as i planned for the next day i ended up extending the stay here. Great food - great welcome and all staff actually made it clear they enjoyed being there. Big warm fire to sit next to in the snug and lots of room for dining. Great garden for when i go back in the summer. Give it a try - its got a good reputation but often places i visit don't live up to it. This was found by chance and it was brilliant. Apparently they have a friendly resident ghost too :)

Great place to base yourself if you are exploring the area Great food and brilliant staff. Much cheaper than i could have got a Premier Lodge or Travel Inn and much better value.
