The hotel staff were all amazing, accommodating our change of plans and providing us with prompt service when our tv remote stopped working. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.The breakfast area was clean and well stocked with a good variety of foods. The only negative thing is about Carlsbad, not the hotel - there are basically no restaurants in the town except for chain fast food. The inclusion of a microwave and fridge in the hotel room was incredibly helpful as we bought some prepared food from the grocery store and could then make our own meals (sort of :).

Was a little tough to turn into the property. There are a couple of driveways right next to each other and the Fairfield driveway is tough if a car is coming out.

The customer service was great. My room did have a distinct oil smell that I had to mask with an air freshener. The gym also had 2 treadmills and none worked. Overall the room was clean, the areas were all clean, and everything worked in my room.

They actually ran out of room keys. We had to be let in by the deck clerk.
The custodian for breakfast was a bit lazy. He had one speed (slow). 8:20 and no milk. The milk, tea bags, and waffle batter were empty. He did bring out more eggs and waffle batter, but no milk, with a case in the back.
