Chalet B - One Bedroom (Twin)
Chalet dated but very clean and well equipt. Fabulous location and we sat outside on the decking frequently. Very close to a main trainline into London but we knew this as visiting friends having previously lived in Broxbourne. Didn't bother us. Sofa not comfortable to sit & enjoy TV. Very hard. Only other negative was the twin beds. Despite the mattress toppers, the springs in the mattresses have gone. They do need replacing. Sadly we had an uncomfortable few nights sleep!

Clean, cosy and relaxing cabins
A lovely quiet spot by the water. Excellent, friendly communication. The cabin was cosy and very clean. We really appreciated the addition of the fan in the warmer weather! We did have an issue with the shower which is a bit of a faff but the staff were excellent and got it sorted, making sure we knew what to do (thank you Grant!). Location is handy for travelling into London yet felt like a rural retreat being next to the water. Kids loved the geese! The cabin is right next to the busy railway line which might bother some but we found that sound quite relaxing really and missed it once we were back home to our very rural silent setting!

Beautiful stay
Stayed for a whole week. Property is warm, comfortable, clean and the owner is so helpful and freindly.. really recommend this place...what a beautiful place beside the river, wildlife was incredible and i will be staying here again for sure.. just perfect

Chalets are basic but perfect for short stays and the location is great. 5 minutes to the station and the high street. Lots to do in the area if you like water based sports.

A little slice of heaven
I couldn’t have really asked for a better stay. It was a little slice of heaven for me. The chalet reminded me of my childhood 80’s holidays which I loved. Right by the river, in a gorgeous location. I had the weather on my side, which always helps of course. Parking right next to the cottage. Key safe and a gate to close once you’re inside the little chalet complex. The train track behind the chalets didn’t bother me at all. The guys running the place were brilliant and their communication was great. Inside it had everything I needed. Fridge with a small freezer compartment, tv, microwave, cooker, kettle etc. but just sitting out on the deck by the river with a glass of red was absolutely bliss. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Perfect for the price
So happy for the price was perfect. Yes the decor is a little dated but that didn’t effect our stay at all. Was so clean and cosy. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The location is amazing so much to do near by. Really happy and will definitely be returning

tidy , compact , ideal for somewhere to rest , as i stayed in october i wasn't there for the weather , would be very pleasant in the summer ,only disappointing thing would be the location quite near the railway lines so quite a bit of noise , but did not spoil my stay , overall would definately return

Great helpful staff great walks and rides along the river with a few pubs in walking distance there is a nice cafe opposite and a kayak and bike hire place 2 minutes away we had a great time and being right on the river it was easy for fishing

Didn’t even get to check in. Please see earlier reviews. Appalling attitude from staff (rude, aggressive, argumentative and swearing at me in front of my children) on our arrival. Used the threat of ‘well have a refund and go and stay somewhere else’ many times, including from very early on in the proceedings - knowing full well that accommodation was at a premium and that I had 2 young children and would be stuck. Three young, aggressive male staff members - clearly they had the aim of getting rid of us which gave them one less chalet to clean / prepare. Continuous insults and bad language until I had no option but to take the refund and leave. This left us with nowhere to stay - 200 miles from home after a 4 hour car journey in half term. As if the situation couldn’t get any worse, the staff have chosen to tell a pack of lies to the owner who posted a completely fictional response. For the sake of clarity to all - not one word of it is true - I never asked for a single penny off, let alone ‘demanded a refund’. We were harassed by these aggressive individuals until we were forced to leave with nowhere else to stay. So, if you want verbal harassment, aggressive and argumentative communication, verbal abuse and being called names, threats and being sworn at in front of your children, being left in the lurch when miles from home and then public lies about it all - this is the place for you. Assuming you want none of those things - avoid at all costs.

So sorry you were unable to understand that COVID-19 cleaning and sanitising takes longer than just turning round a Chalet. We are trying to get it right and safeguard everyone from this dreadful virus. We have strict rules and procedures which I insist my staff follow, you weren't allowing this to happen with " I want my keys now". It was at my suggestion that if you declined to abide by our COVID rules you be asked to leave and given a full refund. The staff were trying to explain this but you wouldn't listen. Sorry it spoilt your weekend

Very basic but really like the location.Amenities are good.Chalet was clean & tidy,comfortable beds.Basic but has everything you need.The only bad thing is having a railway track so close & trains going by every 5 to 10 mins!

A hidden gem
The chalet was cosy, comfortable and in a good state of repair. I was able to park my car right next to the chalet. Cutlery, cooking utensils and other kitchen essentials were provided, including a pint of milk! The staff on-site were friendly and informative, plenty of information about the local area was provided and the view over the river was beautiful (what better way to start the day than being greeted by a family of swans!) Excellently priced and in my opinion, more bang for my buck than I would have got at a hotel costing double the price. The only slight negative was the train tracks behind the site, but soon got used to the noise and it didn't detract from the experience. Highly recommended, would definitely stay again.

Lovely spot and decent facilities.
Lovely location - the chalet is good value and reasonably comfortable. It's not a hotel bed but I slept well. Decent TV, nice kitchenette and everything I needed was there. Perfect for a morning run, evening walks / bike rides down the river. Bed and bathroom were a little dated but fine for my purposes.
