"This property looks just like the pictures - modern and clean. It is located in the heart of the city - next to cafes, restaurants, stores and a short walk to the train. We used Vixx as a base while we traveled and explored Belgium. The city also had nice pubs and cafes that we really enjoyed!"

"Very nice property, very clean and organized. It is in a very good location, close to commercial and historical sites. A lot of things to do and places to eat nearby. We had a little confusion with the entry code, but could sort it out with the help of the property management and they immediately took care of it."

It was a good price, so perhaps we should not have been surprised to find that it was in need of maintenance. There was some dodgy-looking electrics, no basic handsoap, no towel rings for hanging a hand towel near a sink, damaged walls etc. Overall, it made it feel cheap, and.... edgy. "Great central location but couple of issues - lights in bathroom didn't work, there was a massive ridge in the middle of the floor (trip hazard) & the fridge was not working - in fact it was running very hot & there was a burning smell in the unit (plastic was warping inside fridge around light) - a clear fire risk. When informed Smartflats simply thanked us for the info & made no attempt. to remedy or compensate. Poor service as we rented the apartment to prepare our own food & were limited....

"First of all, the entry key pad to the property did not work. Tried pulling the entry door, it opened. It lead to a flight of dark stairs. Climbed two floors and found that there was construction happening. Went back down and called customer service in the middle of night sitting on the high street bench. The owner first said the check in code would be sent to me 7 days before we arrive. I sent an email / website message to follow up 7 days ahead, no response.
